I headed up Columbus after work and went into Fisherman's Wharf. Then I went over Fort Mason and into the Marina. I got this great shot of the fog rolling in over the Golden Gate Bridge:
I rode around the Presidio and headed out the 15th Avenue Gate. I talked to the some of the people with dogs around the spooky old hospital and found out that it looks more than just the main building in that complex is slated for condo conversion. I can't wait. That building is such an eyesore in it's present condition and is such a magnet for vagrants that they have to post security at it 24/7. They also told me that it used to be a hospital specializing in leprosy. Yikes! I'll bet they'll be leaving that tidbit off of the property listing. From there I headed into Golden Gate Park at the Rose Garden and the sun was shining and it was beautiful:
Here I am looking delighted:
I headed out 9th Ave into the Sunset and rode up into Forest Hill. This house has a pirate fort in its front yard! Why can't I get one of those??
I rode down Pachco and then crossed Dewey and went on Merced. This fabulous place houses the Church of Perfect Liberty. They seem to be an offshoot of Buddhism but they seem just a little culty for me.
I headed up Garcia to Idora and then up to Rockaway to photograph the beautiful St. Brendan's chuch. It looks a little gloomy against the fog, but in person it's a lovely, cheerful site:
Here's St. Brendan. He's an Irish saint best known for his legendary voyage to the Land of Delight.
The church has a beautiful terra cotta tiled tower:
And these jaw dropping Dahlia's in the garden:
I headed out Portola to Corbett. I stopped and got a few pics of the city from Portola and Corbett:
And one of me as well:
Then I headed home to walk the dogs. Total bike mileage: 33
