Thursday was pretty much a disaster for biking.  I've been having a hard time getting up in the morning because Mr. Poe isn't sleeping well because of his injuries and, as a result, nobody is sleeping well.  I hoped to put in some mileage after work, but I had an eye appointment at one and they dilated my eyes and they were still freakish looking and sensitive to light by 5PM.  I didn't think it was very safe being on a bike so I headed over to Mr. Chris's house and he brought me home where we drank some wine and ate some snacks with our friend Alex.  Thankfully, my eyes weren't too dilated for that.

I wasn't feeling motivated in the morning so I just came down Market into work.  The dogs were loving the cool weather while I was home over lunch.  I'm pretty happy to say goodbye to the heat for a while.  After work I headed off 2nd to Howard to 11th to Bryant to 26th to Valencia to Tiffany to 29th to San Jose to Wilder to Diamond to Bosworth to Lyell to Alemany to Sagamore to Brotherhood Way to Lake Merced to John Muir to Skyline to the Great Highway and up the coast.  Ocean Beach looked foggy and foreboding:

I continued on the Great Highway and went into Golden Gate Park at JFK.  I stopped at Spreckels Lake for Pics:

    Me:

I continued on JFK to the Panhandle to Stanyan to Page to Scott to Waller.  These are some of the pretty Victorians on Waller at Carmelita:

I continued on Waller to Steiner into Sanchez to Market to 17th to Ord and home for dinner.  Mr. Poe was pretty beat after his first day back at work.  We went to bed early.

Mr. Poe's been working from home this week since he's still under the weather from his accident and not really able to commute.  He's going to go into the office tomorrow.  We'll see how that goes.  He was working on the front porch when I went home over lunch:

After work I headed of Columbus to North Point to Van Ness to Francisco to Octavia to Chestnut to Lyon and into the Presidio at the Lombard Gate.  I came around on Lombard and stopped for pics of the ocean on the beautiful, but very hot, afternoon:

    Me:

I continued on Lincoln into Camino Del Mar and then up to the Palace of the Legion of Honor:

The view of the radio tower from there:

I headed down to 34th to Balboa and down to the coast.  I stopped at the beach.  It was pretty crowded for a Tuesday:

I went into Golden Gate Park at JFK and took it to the Panhandle to Stanyan to Page to Scott to Duboce to Castro to 17th to Ord and home for dinner.   Currently fighting a case of the sads over my rolling year total dipping below 11,000 for the first time since January.  I'm going to have to work harder.

I managed to get out of the house this morning and went for a ride.  It's going to be really hot again today and I wanted to get some miles in because it could be too hot after work again.  I headed off Corbett to Clayton to Parnassus to Cole to Waller to Stanyan and into Golden Gate Park and then JFK to Bernice Rodgers to MLK to the Great Highway and down the coast.  I stopped at the foot of Sloat for pics.  I forgot my camera so I used my Iphone:

I continued on the Great Highway to Skyline to Lake Merced to Winston to Cerritos to Ocean to Phelan to Judson to Gennessee to Monterey to Diamond to Wilder to Arlington to Randall to San Jose to Duncan to Valencia to Market and into work.  It was already hot at 8:30.

Soooooo hot.  Record heat in San Francisco.  I managed to make it home over lunch but after work I just wanted to go home and get out of the heat so I headed up Market and went home.

I totally slept in this morning.  It was hot all night and I'm pretty sun burned so there was no way I was getting out of bed at a quarter to 5.  When I managed to get myself together I took off 17th to Eureka to 18th to Harrison to Mariposa to Bryant and down to the bay.  Gorgeous view of the Bay Bridge from Bryant and the Embarcadero:

    Me:

I got on the Embarcadero to Washington.  Here's a strange perspective shot of the South Financial District:

I continued on Washington to Sansome and into work.

Sunday rolled around and we had our CAT2 ride to Petaluma.  Man, was it ever hot.  A lot of people were having a lot of issues with the heat, including me.  I managed, but it was not the funnest day ever.  We still made a great looking group:

I was stuck pointing directions at Wilson Hill Road for an hour.  It was roasting hot.  There was some toplessness:

Matthew and Beau on Wilson Hill:

    Me:

We stopped for lunch on the river in Petaluma.

Us at the end of the day.  Note the first pic of my glamorous new bike:

It was still really hot when I got home.  Mr. Poe and I had dinner and then I thought about bed.

Mr. Nick and his girlfriend Jess were in town from Albany and Nathan and I took the day off of work to carouse with them.  I'm afraid I don't know where many of this pics were taken as my memories are strangely inhibited for most of the day.

    Boozy Brenda:

    Boozy Brandine:

We went home and ordered Chinese from Big Lantern to be delivered.  Poor Mimi is so sick of Mr. Poe being perpetually home because she can't watch her stories and get some rest!

    Rufus:  also sleepy:

We were all asleep by 9.

I ran home for lunch to check on Mr. Poe and then headed home up Market after work.  We had my friends Richard and Rob over for dinner.  Rob was telling us about he and his partner who had split after eleven years.  They can do that??  I thought I was in for life.  This news, along with his recent injury, has propelled losing Mr. Poe ahead of zombie's as my #1 worst nightmare.

I managed to get out on my bike this morning for the first time this week.  Mr. Poe's feeling a lot better.  He just needs lots and lots of rest.  I headed off 17th to Eureka to 18th to Valencia to Mission to Bosworth to Lyell to Alemeny to Sagamore to Brotherhood Way to Lake Merced to John Muir.  This is the sun rising behind Lake Merced:

    Another view of the lake:

I continued on John Muir to Skyline to the Great Highway.  It was a glorious morning on the coast:

I continued on the Great Highway.  The road was closed from Sloat to Lincoln because of shifting sand dunes so I had the road to myself which was kind of a treat.  I went into Golden Gate Park at JFK.  Here's an interesting shot of the sun coming up behind the De Young:

I continued on JFK to 8th to Lake.  These pretty Victorian buildings are at Arguello and Lake.  They're symmetricalicious:

I continued on Arguello and went into the Presidio.  I came out the Lombard Gate and took Greenwich to Octavia to Francisco to Polk to North Point to the Embarcadero to Broadway to Davis to pick up my dry cleaning and then Jackson to Battery to Sacramento to Sansome and into work.  It was a great morning to ride.
