I sat on my ass all weekend and watched cartoons.  It was cold and kind of crappy and my knee's been bothering me and it was probably a good idea.  I slept in on Monday morning because I was up until 11 watching Batman Beyond.  Don't judge me.  So I just headed down Market into work.  After work I headed out Howard to 11th to Harrison to 25th to Valencia to Tiffany to 29th to San Jose to Wilder to Diamond to Monterey to Ridgewood to Flood to Hazelwood to Greenwood to Northwood to Wildwood to Faxon to De Montefort to Ashton to Pico to Urbano to Moncada to Cerritos to Winston to Lake Merced where I stopped for pics.  It was cold and foggy but not wet:

    Me at the lake:

After work I headed off Sutter to Steiner to Sacramento.  This pretty Victorian is at Sacramento and Divisadero ( I think):

I continued on Sacramento to Arguello to 14th Avenue where I saw this fabulous thing.  It's the Congregation Beth Shalom Synagogue and it's so fabulous it's hard to believe:

How cool is that??  Here's a pic of me across the street from it:

I continued on 14th Ave to Geary where I got a shot of the Alexandria Theater which is unfortunately closed but so, so pretty:

I managed to get out of the house early this morning.  It's true.  No, really.  I got outside and it was cold, clammy, and really foggy.  Ugh.  I should have stayed in bed.  I headed out Corbett to Portola to Fowler to Teresita to Isola to Rockdale to Omar to Sequoia to Bella Vista to Burlwood to Los Palmos to Hazelwood to Yerba Buena to Brentwood to El Verano into Northgate to Upland to San Benito into Paloma to MErcedes to Winston to Lake Merced to John Muir to Skyline to the Great Highway and then up the coast and into Golden Gate Park at MLK to the Music Concourse to JFK to 8th to Lake to Arguello and into the Presidio to Marina Blvd.  I stopped and got a few pics of the wet, foggy morning:

I continued on and then over Fort Mason to Van Ness to Beach to the Embarcadero to Washington to Sansome and into work.

  • Thursday, July 18

I totally overslept Thursday morning and only came down Market into work.  Mr. Poe took the day off so I was able to come see him over lunch which was awful fun.  He painted the front steps and did some other crap around the house.  Interesting.  When I take the day off I usually watch cartoons all day.  Maybe that's just me.  After work I headed off Howard to 11th to Harrison to 20th to Capp.  This little house is on Capp Street.  So cute:

    .

    Mor Capp goodness:

This is Bernal Hill from Capp Street at 25th:

    Adorable cottage:

    Highly detailed:

I continued on Capp to 25th to Valencia to Tiffany to 29th to San Jose to Wilder to Diamond to Monterey.  I saw this on Monterey Ave.  Worst.  Parallel parking.  Ever.

I continued on Monterey to Northgate to Upland where I stopped for the obligatory shot of the ocean:

And me at the same intersection:

I continued on Upland to San Benito into Paloma to Mercedes.  There are a bunch of pretty houses on Mercedes Street:

I continued on Mercedes to Winston to Lake Merced to Skyline to the Great Highway to Taravel to Merced to Hernandez to Laguna Honda to Portola to Corbett to Ord and then home for dinner.

I went home over lunch and Mr. Poe was just heading off to work.  He had a late meeting and worked from home in the morning.  The dogs were exhausted.  Which I like:

Mimi says:  "Hating you is exhausting."

After work I headed off Howard to 11th to Harrison to 21st.  This mural is on Shotwell at 21st.  I don't know a lot about it but I'm guessing the theme is Mexican independence:

This house is on 21st a few doors down.

I continued on 21st and got a shot of the fabulous Mission Theater sign:

I continued on 21st to Valencia to Tiffany to 29th to San Jose to Wilder to Diamond to Monterey to Plymouth to Eastwood to Westwood to Faxon to De Montefort to Pico to Urbano to Moncado to Cerritos to Winston to Lake Merced to Skyline where I stopped to get some pics of the boaters:

  • Tuesday, July 15

I headed off after work Sutter to Fillmore to Clay to Broderick to Washington where I stopped and got some pics of the cool Victorians:

I continued on Washington to Arguello to Lake where I got a flat.  I had the hardest time finding the piece of glass in my tire that had caused it until finally I realized that the the valve had separated from tube and that's what the issue was.  Ugh.  I got it changed and was soon on my way but it took forever.  I continued on Lake to 23rd to Balboa and down to the coast.  I stopped for pics.  I love the kite surfers:

    One of me:

    The beach looking south:

  • Tuesday, July 15

We're midway between Memorial and Labor days and I guess summer's halfway over :(   I think I can feel the days getting a little shorter.  Which I'm not crazy about because I prefer to bike in daylight.  I headed off Corbett to Portola to Woodside to Dewey to Taravel and down to the coast.  I came up the Great Highway and then rode into Golden Gate Park at MLK.  I followed it to the Music Concourse and then took JFK to 8th to Lake to Arguello and into the Presidio.  I came out of the Presidio at the Lombard gate and then took Chestnut to Broderick to Marina to Fort Mason.  This is Russian Hill from Fort Mason Park:

And this weird sculpture that I though was Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise but in face is a Benny Bufano scultpture that I've blogged about before.

This is Fort Mason from the park with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background:

And me with the Fort Mason Hostel behind me:

I continued through Fort Mason to Van Ness to Beach to the Embarcadero to Green to Front to Broadway to Davis where I picked up my laundry and then continued to Jackson to Front to Sacramento to Sansome and into work.

  • Monday, July 14

After work I headed off 2nd to Harrison.  This is the 1930 Eng Skell Company building designed by AC Griewank.  How fabulous is this??  It's certainly seen better days and I'd love to see it renovated for condos.  With all those windows the units would be amazing:

    Nicely detailed:

I continued on Howard and got a shot looking back towards 6th street.  Skid Row:

I continued on Howard to 11th to Harrison to 26th.  This is a shot of expensive gas obscuring a beautiful Victorian apartment building:

I continued on 26th to Valencia to Tiffany to 29th to San Jose to Wilder to Diamond to Monterey to Ridgewood to Flood to Hazelwood to Greenwood to Northwood to Wildwood to Faxon to De Montefort to Ashton to Pico to Urbano to Borico to Holloway to Lake Merced to Skyline to the Great Highway to Taravel to Dewey to Pacheco to Merced to Hernandez to Laguna Honda to Portola to Corbett and home for dinner.  Mr. Poe had taken Rufus to the park and made me dinner.  And it was awesome.

I slept in a little this morning and then went for a slightly shorter ride.  I took Corbett to Clayton to Parnassus up to UCSF where there's a strike:

I continued on Parnassus into Judah and stopped at St. Anns which I hadn't seen in a long time.  So very pretty with the elaborate plasterwork:

We with Judah Street behind me:

I continued on Judah to La Playa and went into Golden Gate Park at MLK.  I followed it to the Music Concourse and then took JFK to the panhandle to Baker to Fulton.  I stopped and got a shot of City Hall at Fulton and Franklin:

I continued on Franklin to McAllister to Polk to Bush to Sansome and into work.
