Yet another rainy morning!  Loving them.  I came down Market into work and then, over lunch, I headed over to REI to drop off my commuter bike and pick up my road bike.  I've just gotten the drive train replaced on my road bike and it's really nice.  I'm planning on getting new wheels for that bike in a couple of weeks and then I think I'll be finished upgrading it for the season.  After work I headed of Sutter to Steiner.  I got a couple of shots of St. Dominics.  It's so nice that the days are finally longer!  I'm able to take a lot more pics:

I continued on Steiner to Clay to Cherry to Washington.  I took a couple of shots of the houses at the intersection.  Either would be nice as a gift:

    .

I continued on Washington to Arguello to Lake to 23rd to Cabrillo and down to the Ocean.  I came down the Great Highway and got a couple of great shots of the setting sun:

I continued on the Great Highway to Sloat to Clearfield to Ocean to Phelan to Judson to Gennessee to Monterey to Diamond to Chenery to Randall to San Jose to 29th to Tiffany to Valencia to 18th to Diamond to 17th and then home.  Great ride!

It was raining yet again so I just came down Market into work  The weather miraculously seemed to clear up towards the end of the day so I was able to get in a good ride after work.  I headed off Sansome street where I got a shot of this building at Sansome and Bush(?):

I continued to Sutter and headed towards Union Square.  This fabulous little building houses the Fresh store.  I get my hair cut across the street and can report that they've had a tent on their roof for the last six months are so.  Is somebody living up there??  You could do worse.

I continued on Sutter.  Mr friend Quela used to live in the building.  I took this picture because of the beautiful blue sky behind it.

And this is me at Gough and Sutter:

I continued on Sutter.  This fabulous building is at Lyon and Sutter.  It's so pretty and so nicely detailed:

I continued on Sutter to Presidio to Euclid.  I stopped on Jordan to take a few pics.  I think this is Jordan.  Spring is erupting all over in San Francisco and the trees are all in bloom:

That's St. Ignatius rising behind the houses:

I continued on Euclid to Arguello to Clement into Seal Rock to Camino del Mar to Point Lobo and down the Great Highway to Wawona to Crestlake to 23rd to Ocean to WestGate to Kenwood to Faxon to Northwood to Greenwood to Staples to Gennessee to Monterey to Diamond to Chenery to Randall to San Jose Ave to 29th to Tiffany to Valencia to 18th to Diamond to 17th and home.

While calculating my mileage I realized I'm actually 150 more miles behind than I thought I was.  Which is really depressing.

I headed off after work up Columbus.  This building is at Columbus and Kearny:

This is me with the Transamerica Pyramid behind me:

I continued on Columbus to North Point to Francisco to Laguna to Chesnut to Lyon and into the Presidio at Lombard.  I rode in the Presidio Lombard to Presidio to Funston to Moraga to Sheridan to Lincoln to Kobbe and up Kobbe to Harrison to Washington to Battery Caulfield to Wedermeier and out of the Presidio at 15th Ave.  I came down Lake where I saw this pretty house with blooming trees in front of it:

I came down 9th Ave where I saw this cool building that looks like it's condos now but who knows what it was built to be:

    And the detail:

This is the Richmond Branch of the public library.  It's all under renovation now and was hard to photograph through the fence all around it but I managed:

    Gorgeous detail around the entrance:

My mileage goals are very depressing.  Between the crappy weather and being sick I'm 500 miles behind my goal.  Which is a lot.  But I think I can catch up.  Or die tryin'.

    Bike Mileage:
    Today                                  21.4

I'm FINALLY feeling better.  I was sick for two and a half weeks and I'm going to have to work really hard to get my mileage back up to goal.  It was POURING down rain so I just came down Market into work. Which didn't help.  The weather finally cleared up and I headed home for lunch and got a couple of pics of the dogs.  Rufus is getting really big:

    Mimi still hates you all.

Ashley is the cutest thing I've ever seen.  His adult hair is starting to come in and it's curlier than his puppy hair so he looks like he got his hair relaxed and it's growing out:

Here's one of him with Rufus.  Rufus is very, very patient:

Here's an update on the house down the street that they're working on.  The new garage is finally excavated and I think the foundation is pretty much complete:

Then I came back down Market into work.

  • Still Sick!!

I went to the doctor last week and they put me on antibiotics and my tonsils are slowly returning to normal but I still feel pretty crappy and I'm still still a little feverish and a little dizzy.  The latter complaint was a definite issue last night at 1:30 AM when, while trying to corral Rufus back into the house, I fell down the stairs into my back yard, scraping my arm in the process.  I think Mimi might have pushed me.  She was surfing on the internet yesterday and reading an article that stated that only 3% of dogs who kill their owners get away with it UNLESS THEY MAKE IT LOOK LIKE AN ACCIDENT.  I've missed yet another training ride and my daily riding is just to work and back so my mileage seems hopelessly behind.  But I gotta feel better sooner or later and my road bike is in for some pretty major upgrades right now and there's another round of them scheduled in a couple of weeks and I'm definitely itching to ride.

  • Sick!

    Hey guys--

I'm sorry I havem't updated in a while but I had the flu which turned into tonsilitis and I've been lying in bed watching cartoons instead of riding my bike and blogging.  The dogs have loved it and I've made it through all 65 episodes of Spider Man:  The Animated Series but I'm looking forward to feeling better and getting back on my bike.

  • Friday, February 1

It was freezing cold this morning but it wasn't raining and that's a huge plus.  I headed off Corbett to Portola to Evelyn to Teresita into Foerster to Monterey to Plymouth to Northwood to Kenwood to WestGate to Ocean where I got a great view of the sun rising behind the Ingleside:

Love the whatever it is that you call these:

And one of me as well:

I continued on Ocean and got a pic of the deco-licious Lakeside Medical Center building:

I continued on Ocean to Clearfield into 34th to Yorba to 35th to Vicente and down to the coast.  Where is was very, very cold.  Brrr.   I came up the Great Highway and went into Golden Gate Park at MLK to Chain of Lakes to JFK all the way into the panhandle.  This is the view of the Panhandle from Baker with the Haight rising behind it:

And this is the big hospital looking building at Baker and Oak:

    .

I took Baker to McAllister into Civic Center.  This is one of the state builings at McAllister and Van Ness:

And this one is at McAllister at Polk:

I continued on McAllister to Larkin to O'Farrell to Powell to Post to Kearny.  This cool building is at Kearny at Pine (I think):

I continued on Kearny to Bush to Sansome and into work.
