I noticed that Mr. Poe's wisteria is coming into bloom as I left the house on Monday.  It's gonna be a hell of a show.  Here's how it looks now:

I came into work down Market.  I wanted to turn at Laguna but they're doing street repairs that I didn't know about and Laguna was closed at Market.  So I headed down Market which is a complete shit show in the morning between the traffic, the pedestrians, the streetcar tracks, and the bikes.  You'd think the bikes wouldn't be the biggest problem but imagine how much fun driving would be if you didn't have to get a drivers license to drive a car.  I could hear the circus music playing.  I made it as far as 9th and then I got off Market took Larkin to Post to Grant to Bush to Sansome and into work.  I headed home for lunch and ran into my pal Grady on the way back to work.  He was in the Castro with Zippy who is adorable:

After work I headed off 2nd to Howard to 11th to Harrison.  I stopped for a look at these fine Victorians between 20th and 21st:

I continued on Harrison to 21st and stopped for a pic of this super fantastic house that's been cut up into apartments and is missing a bit of the luster it was born with:

I continued on 21st and stopped for a pic of this building at South Van Ness.  It kind of makes me chuckle because you can see that underneath it all is an enormous Victorian home that's been raised for a bunch of ground floor stores and then covered in that awful siding.  Ugh.  Such a shame:

I continued on 21st to Capp.  This building at Capp and 22nd is recently painted and looks pretty good.  It's also been hoisted up to make room for ground floor nonsense but at least the buildings are still recognizable:

I continued on Capp.  This is a super fantastic Buddhist Temple that I approve of completely:

I continued on Capp.  These murals are recent I think at 23rd Street.  I love them:

I continued on Capp to 24th.  This amazing building at Mission and Bartlett is the Mission branch of the library.  There's nothing not to love about this building:

    Me:

I continued on 24th to Valencia to Tiffany to 29th to San Jose to Monterey to Ridgewood to Flood to Hazelwood to Greenwood to Plymouth to Wildwood to Faxon to De Montefort to Ashton to Pico to Urbano to Moncada to Cerritos to Winston to 20th to Ocean to Clearfield into 34th to Yorba to Crestlake to Wawona to 30th to Vicente.  I stopped for a few pics of pretty St. Cecilia's:

I continued on Vicente to 16th to Taravel to Merced to Hernandez to Laguna Honda to Portola to Corbett to Ord and home for dinner.  Let's hear it for dry weather!

I worked from home for the rest of the week.  The weather's been pretty crappy and, although we really need the rain, I'm pretty much over it.  Saturday it was pouring rain when I got up and I just gave up.  It cleared up in the afternoon but I was too busy pouting.

Sunday was dry but very, very windy.   Our CAT2 ride had a big group and we had a good time but the conditions were challenging.  We had this crazy headwind on the bike path in Mill Valley that was just awful.  I was pedaling as hard as I could and I looked down and was going 12mph.  Which isn't fast.  Then Sir Francis Drake towards Samuel P Taylor park was very wet and slick and a couple of riders wiped out although there weren't any serious injuries.  We all made it into Point Reyes Station where I got a burrito and it was very, very tasty.  Then we headed towards Nicasio where we came across one of the ride leaders who'd had a blowout in her front tire and gone over her handlebars.  Yikes!  Luckily, she wasn't badly injured and didn't have to go to the hospital.  I didn't get home until 6PM which means I was out for 11 1/2 hours.  I was so beat!  Surprisingly I didn't sleep very well.

Here's the hotness at Sports Basement getting ready to ride:

I spent a bit of time pointing riders into Samuel P Taylor park.  I got some pics there:

    Stretching in Point Reyes Station:

    Nicasio Reservoir is completely full:

Two of our riders were still happy to be here by mile 55:
