Wednesday was a gorgeous day in San Francisco.  It was in the seventies mid day and the sun was shinin' and the birds were singin' and the junkies were relatively sedate.  I got a few pics as I headed home for lunch.  This is the pretty Phelan building at Market and Grant:

    The pretty 1937 SFMart building:

    Fabulous deco Maya revival detail:

After work I headed off Sutter to Steiner.  This is pretty St. Ignatius:

    With lovely gothic-licious detail:

I continued on Steiner to Sacramento to Arguello.  This may be the best angle to view the Synagogue on Arguello from:

I took Arguello to Cabrillo to Funston and into Golden Gate Park at the Rose Garden.  It's been a good year for the Rose Garden and everything was in bloom:

    Me:

I headed over to Stow Lake for pics of the Chinese Pavilion:

    Such fabulous detail:

    Ducks!

I got on MLK and headed west.  Golden Gate Park is heavily forested in parts and looks fantastic:

The is is the South Windmill which seems to be nearing completion:

The top of the windmill which looks ready to go on:

I came out of the Park at La Playa.  I love this building on La Playa at Irving with it's crazy color palette.  "Out of my way, nature!":

I took La Playa to Kirkham to 5th to Parnassus to Shraeder to Grattan to Cole to Camel to Clayton to Corbett to Ord and home for dinner.  I barely was able to stay up til 9.  Long day.

I headed home on my bike Tuesday and had to fix a flat tire while I was there.  I had pulled the valve out of the stem of my back tire on my commuter that morning and just grabbed a different bike instead of fixing it then.  I changed it and headed back to work on my commuter bike.  The weather was gorgeous and I went for a nice ride after work.  I headed of Washington to Stockton to Pacific to Fillmore to Jackson.  This is the view looking down Pierce from Jackson towards the Marina.  Perfect:

I continued on Jackson to Broderick to Washington.  This gorgeous portal is on Washington at Maple.  Fabulous:

I continued on Washington to Arguello to Lake to 8th and into Golden Gate Park.  I headed through the Music Concourse and stopped for a pic.  It was pretty foggy in the park so it wasn't so spectacular:

I got on MLK into 9th to Judah to 87th into Laguna Honda to Dewey to Claremont to Portola to Santa Clara.  I stopped for a couple pics of a gloomy Saint Francis Wood:

I continued on Santa Clara into Monterey and got another flat, this time on my front tire. When I went to change it I noticed what terrible condition that tire is in.  My rear tire doesn't look so great either so I'm not gonna ride my commuter bike until I can get it worked on next week.  I was running late because I had to stop so I headed home more or less directly.  I took El Verano to Rosewood to Ravenwood to Miraloma to Portola to Corbett to Ord and home for dinner.  Mr. Poe had just gotten home so I had to walk the dogs after dinner and then we went to bed.  Long day.

Tuesday I went for the longest ride I've gone for before work this year.  Which makes me shudder because that ain't right.  I headed off Corbett to Portola to Woodside to Dewey to Taravel and down to the coast.  I came up the Great Highway and then up to Geary to 24th and up to the Palace of the Legion of Honor.  It was very, very foggy:

I headed down Camino Del Mar to Lake to Arguello to Clay to Fillmore to Pacific.  The fog was finally starting to break up a little after I crested Russian Hill.  This is the view from Mason looking north:

    Me:

I continued on Pacific to Powell to Jackson to Columbus.  I got a shot of the Transamerica Pyramid from Columbus and Washington:

This fabulous building is across the street from the Transamerica Pyramid:

I took Montgomery to Clay to Sansome and into work.  It's gonna be a beautiful day.

Wednesday was Mr. Poe's birthday.  Which is a very exciting event in our household, probably the most exciting event of the year.  It was a work day and taking him out for dinner wasn't really gonna work so I cooked for him.  He wanted crab cakes, scalloped potatoes, and peach ice cream.  The crab cakes were perfect but then again they're very easy to make.  I made the scalloped potatoes in these new oven safe ramekins we'd got and they turned out really well but the ramekins really hold the heat and they have to sit around for quite a while before they are cool enough to eat.  I tried making a vegan version and it was pretty awful.  The ice cream was also a disappointment.  I added a little nutmeg and ginger to give it some cobbler appeal and Mr. Poe concluded it was too much spice and not enough peach.  Better luck next time.

I worked from home the rest of the week and got no physical activity whatsoever and then proceeded to lay around all weekend.  The bridge closure is totally killing me but it will soon be over.  Monday I managed to drag myself out of bed and I went for a nice ride.  I headed off 17th to Eureka to 18th to Valencia to Tiffany to 29th to San Jose to Monterey to Ridgewood to Flood to Hazelwood to Greenwood to Plymouth to Wildwood to Faxon to De Montefort to Ashton to Pico to Urbano to Borica to Entrada and I stopped at the big sun dial for a pic:

I took Borica to Holloway to Font to Lake Merced to John Muir to Skyline to the Great Highway and up the coast.  I stopped at the foot of Sloat for pics of the dirty ass looking beach:

I took the Great Highway to Vicente to 15th to Taravel to 12th to Magellan to Cortes to Dorantes to Montalvo to Casteneda to Santa Rita to Mesa to 9th to 12th to Quintara to 14th.  I took some pics of the big view looking west as I headed towards Grand View Park:

I continued on 14th to Aloha to Funston.  I stopped for some pics of pretty St. Anne's church:

I continued on Funston to Irving to 9th and into Golden Gate Park.  I took MLK to Middle to JFK to the Panhandle to Stanyan to Page to Scott to Duboce to Castro to 17th to Ord and home for dinner.  It was a nice ride.
