Sunday was my weekly Lifecycel training ride.  It’s hard to believe that I’ve been slacking so hard this year that it’s already the end of February and the only rides of note I’m getting in are the CAT series.  Yikes!  I need to get my shit together.  It was very sunny yet pretty cold.  It warmed up a little in the afternoon but I was super happy I had on so many layers.  I’m starting to see the riders making some great progress and we’re really happy about that.  It’s been a fun season.

I got home about three and got cleaned up and had some dinner.  I went to bed early.  It wasn’t a lot of mileage, but it was a long day.

It’s been quite a week.  It was freezing cold all week which put a dent in my riding.  We were supposed to get snow on Friday and I was all excited about it–  like a five year old–  and I was so disappointed when it didn’t pan out.  We had a couple of guests this weekend.  Mr. Chris and David were in Vegas for the weekend so we had Sofi and Tonisha which was lots of fun.  Here’s how Mimi felt about two more dogs in the house:

It was raining on Saturday pretty much all day which is very unusual in San Francisco.  It was also very, very cold so we were pretty much stuck in the house all day.  Sadly, I made no attempt to attack the huge list of projects I have for home.  I can report that, thanks to Itunes, I am the proud owner of all four seasons of the Justice League cartoon.  I can also report that I’m enjoying them very much.

Sunday was cold and damp but reasonably sunny and I wasn’t going to complain.  I headed over for my Lifecycle training ride and didn’t get a whole lot of pics but I did take some while we were stretching:

The ride went very well.  People seem to be progressing pretty much like we hope they will and I wasn’t done too late.  Mr. Poe made me dinner and we went to bed early.

The weather hasn’t been our friend this week.  I rode in on Tuesday but took my bike home at lunch to avoid torrential rains that were supposed to stop.  I worked from home on Wednesday and took Muni to work on Thursday and then again on Friday.  Friday afternoon I went for a walk over lunch.  The dogs were at the groomers and I didn’t have a reason to go home.  This pretty building is on Mission between 8th and 9th.  I love the terra cotta facade:

Then I headed over to Valencia.  Food trucks have been slowly taking over the city.  They had this mini food court set up at McCoppin and Valencia:

I got my hair cut after work which takes forever and then I went home and went to bed.  I’m over this rain.

Tuesday I was able to pad my ride in a little which is fortunate because it’s going to start pouring down rain in the afternoon and I’m planning on taking my bike home at lunch and coming back on Muni.  I headed off Corbett to Clayton to Ashbury to Frederick to Masonic to Haight to Baker to Fulton.  I stopped at Fulton and Scott for a pic of City Hall:

I continued on Fulton to Laguna to Golden Gate to Polk to O’Farrell to Powell to Post to Kearny.  This pretty building is at Kearny and Sacramento:

Happy Valentine’s Day!  Mr. Poe wasn’t gonna get home from work til late so I took the day off and made him dinner.  The weather was really crappy in the morning so I cooked and then went out in the afternoon.  I had kind of hoped I was gonna be able to go biking but the weather was awful all day.  But I had a lot of work to do around the house and I got all of that done which was nice.

For Valentine’s day, I made Mr. Poe deviled eggs, crab cakes and macaroni and cheese with Italian sausage and carmelized onions and garlic.  Here’s the macaroni and cheese in progress.

Then I drained the sausage and carmelized the onions and garlic in sausage drippings and butter:

Then the onions came out and I made a roux, added cream and spices and then cheese.  Finally I added back the sausage and then onions:

Then I mixed in the macaroni, put it in a baking dish and covered it with cheese and buttered breadcrumbs:

Once I had dinner all ready to go into the oven I got cleaned up and headed out.  It was wet but beautiful and spring is definitely in the air:

Mr. Chris and I went out to lunch at Rincon Center and then I headed home.  The weather had gotten quite a bit worse as the day progressed:

I headed home and worked around the house for a while and waited for Mr. Poe to get home.  Then we had dinner and went to bed.  I had a fabulous day!

Sunday was my Lifecycle training ride.  We did a short Tiburon Loop and it went really well.  The weather was pretty crappy in the morning but it got really nice in the afternoon.  The riders moved a little faster than I thought they would and I was even done a little early!

I got home and had a snack and got cleaned up.  Mr. Poe took me out to Barracuda to celebrate the anniversary of our 2004 wedding.  Then we went home and went to bed.  It was a long day.

Saturday was Different Spokes’ monthly jersey ride.  I couldn’t do the whole ride because I had a party in the afternoon so I only went as far as the end of the bike path in Mill Valley and then I turned around.  Here’s everybody gathered at Peet’s:

I went home and got cleaned up and then we headed over to Nathan’s birthday party which was lots of fun and even briefly evacuated when the fire alarm went off in one of the lower floors.  We had dinner at an Indonesian place with Mr. Chris and David and Alex and then we went home and went to bed.  It was a long day and I was beat.

This morning I got out of the house early enough to not have to go straight down Market into work.  I took 17th to Eureka to 18th to Harrison to 17th to Kansas to 16th to 3rd.  I stopped at Willie Mays Plaza at AT&T park for a pic of the gorgeous morning:

I continued on the Embarcadero to Washington to Sansome and into work.  It’s gonna be a beautiful day!

Thursday I came down Market into work.  I didn’t make it home for lunch, but I went on a nice ride after work.  I headed off down Columbus and stopped at Jackson to get a pic of the city college building that’s going up next to the Chinatown Hilton:

I continued on Columbus to Union to Stockton.  I stopped at Washington Square for a pic of Sts Peter and Paul which is in the middle of a facelift:

I continued on Stockton to Bay to Powell to North Point to Van Ness to Francisco to Octavia to Chestnut to Lyon and into the Presidio at the Lombard Gate.  There’s a lot of construction in the Presidio because of the Doyle Drive thing, so I headed up Arguello and made my way over to Immigrant Point which, as always, had spectacular views:

I continued on 26th to Balboa to 24th to Cabrillo to 8th and into Golden Gate Park.  I went past the Music Concourse and then came out at 9th to Judah to 7th into Laguna Honda to Portola to Corbett to Ord and home for dinner.  I hadn’t been in the Presidio since we turned the clocks back in November and it was really fun.
