Saturday rolled around and it was time for my monthly club ride out to Tiburon.  The weather was very nice and I had a really good time.  Here's everybody at Shark's in Tiburon:

The view from the place in Belvedere where we always stop.  Someday they're gonna build a house here and it will give me the sads:

I stopped in Golden Gate Park and hung out with Nathan and some of his work friends.  Who were all hot.  Super hot.  I made it home about 4:00 and I ordered Chinese food for dinner so that I could get something Mr. Poe would eat because he won't have had dinner on the flight home.  He's been toiling away in steerage this year because United upped the requirements for a first class upgrade to Hawaii and he didn't have the miles.  Poor baby!

I hung out with the dogs and waited for his flight to land.  Mimi and I picked him up at the airport and nothing makes her happier than picking up her daddy at the airport. We went home and Mr. Poe had dinner and then we went to bed.  Long ass day.

Friday I only managed to head down to work on Market and home the same way.  Thankfully, today wasn't another holiday and I wasn't the only one in the office.  I'm so happy Mr. Poe is coming home tomorrow night.  I miss him terribly and I think we can all agree that I'm at the point of his absence where I can best be described as "crazy".  I have, however, decided to exploit my empty house by indulging in cuisine that Mr. Poe doesn't like.  Mr Poe famously enjoys the Marco Polo diet in which the only food allowed is either of Italian or Chinese origin and I'm so terrifically whipped that I seldom stray from those limits.  I got Indian food from India Oven in the Lower Haight and it was so delicious and consuming it made me feel vaguely depraved.  And I had it delivered!  Mr. Poe doesn't like getting go food because he's convinced it's smaller portions.  It's true!  I think I can squeeze in one more meal before he gets home tomorrow night.  I believe it's gonna be Thai and you know I'm having it delivered.

Thursday I came down Market into work and was actually working for about an hour before I realized that it was a holiday and the office was empty.  Seriously.  It's like I'm becoming exponentially more stupid as I age. In my defense, Veterans Day was not a mandatory holiday in my office last year but still.  And you wouldn't believe how long it took for me to put it all together in my head.  At first I was like "where is everybody?".  Then I was like "Is today actually Saturday and I'm crazy?".  Finally I combined previously known pieces of information 1) today is Veterans Day and 2) Veterans day is a holiday I have off.  Let's hope I do better at Christmas.

I left the office and headed over to go see Mr. Chris.  We hung out for a while and then he had a conference call so I took his dogs, Sofi and Tonisha, out for a walk along the waterfront.  When I got back we headed out for lunch and went to Osha Thai which was really, really good.  I don't eat a lot of either Thai or Indian food because Mr. Poe doesn't really like either of those cuisines and when I'm eating out I'm usually with him.  So I've Thai food twice since he's been in Hawaii and it's been pretty awesome.

After lunch I rode home and then hung out with the dogs for the rest of the day.

Tuesday I came down market into work and then headed honme for lunch.  After work was kind of a disaster.  I rode Sutter to Fillmore to Clay and made it to about Presidio before it started raining.  Which sucked.  I continued to Spruce to Washington to Arguello to Lake to 8th and into Golden Gate Park.  I took JFK to the Panhandle to Stanyan to Page to Scott to Duboce to Castro to 17th to Ord and home for dinner.   Nathan came over for dinner and then we went for a walk in Upper Market and then I went home and went to bed.

I worked from home on Wednesday.  I watched a little Glee in the evening and Ashley Jr. and I did a number just for my blog readers:

I came down Market into work on Monday.  It's crisp and sunny and gorgeous.  Fabulous fall weather.  When I was getting ready to head home for lunch, I noticed that they were doing a fashion shoot outside my office window.  A little low on the expectations if they're standing on recycling bin in the alley by my office:

I got this pic on Market looking towards the Ferry Building from Montgomery on the way back to work:

After work I headed off down 2nd to Townsend.  I caught the last bit of the sunset:

I continued on Townsend to 7th to Brannon and into REI where they helped me get my front light attached correctly and I got a new rear fender.  I continued on Brannon to 9th to Harrison to 24th to Valencia to Tiffany to 29th to San Jose to Wilder to Diamond to Monterey into Santa Clara to Portola to Claremont to Dewey to Laguna Honda into 7th to Hugo to 3rd to Frederick to Stanyan to Page to Scott to Duboce to Castro to 17th and home for dinner.

Mr. Poe is still on vacation and woe has descended upon the household.  I had a crappy dinner and then took the dogs for a walk up to Mount Olympus.  There's the remains of a monumental statue of libery that used to stand on the top that was removed in the 50's and much of the park replaced by condos.  There's an interesting article about it here.  The site is overgrown with trees now and it's hard to imagine that once it was a well known tourist stop and visible from much of the city.

Mr. Poe is out of town.  Cringe.  He left Saturday morning for a week on Kauai with his friend Sharon.  They go every year.  If you're a frequent reader, you might recall that I'm not allowed to go with them any more because they prefer to spend the week parked on the beach and I make them do too many things.  Which is a fair objection.  I had lunch on Saturday with Mr. Chris and Nathan and Daniel and then I hung out at Nathan's house after.  I was up pretty late on Saturday night because the dogs can't believe that he's gone and insist on waiting by the front door for him.

It was pouring down rain when I got up on Sunday.  No biking for me.  I hung around the house in the morning and tidied up.  Mimi and Ashley Jr. caught up on their office work:

Mid day I took Rufus for a long walk.  It was still pouring down rain but I couldn't sit around in the house any longer.  We've gotten a lot of rain this fall and everything is exceedingly green.

I headed over to Holly Park and then made may way through Glen Park.  This big mansion is a lot older than everything else in the neighborhood and likely came first:

Then I headed up to Diamond Heights.  This is the view of the stormy bay from Diamond and Valley:

    We headed home for snack.

I've been a little lazy on the bike.  I worked from home Monday and Friday, and Tuesday through Thursday I came down Market into work and home the same way.  I managed to make it home for lunch on Thursday and that's the best I could do.  So lazy!

This is Nathan's house from the party last weekend.  It was a lot of fun although I got a little <cough> <cough> overserved.  Everything that I made turned out very well.  I was particularly pleased with the hummus.  I spent four hours carmelizing onions for it and served it on bread with roasted eggplant and it was super fantastic.  Here's a pic of the snacks.  Note that I made garlic herb biscuits and painted an 'N' on each of them for my friend Nathan:

I got this great pic of the fog rolling in as I came home on Thursday night:

Resolved:  to ride more next week.
