Wednesday was not my favorite day and by the end of it, lovely glass of wine and slightly clever British detective DVD won out over a long ride after work although I did make it home for lunch.  I got this slightly blurry pic of one of our streetcars as I was coming up Market on the way home.  How cool is this:

I finished up my homework after dinner and that ate up the rest of the night.  I made it into bed a little later than I'd hoped.

Monday I came down Market into work and didn't make it home for lunch so I had to head home the same way after work to rescue the dogs.  I had better luck making it home on Tuesday so I was able to go on a nice ride after work.  The weather is fabulous--  the kind of weather which makes you wonder why anybody would live anywhere else.  I headed of 2nd to Townsend.  This is 3rd St from Townsend:

    Looking down Townsend:

I continued on Townsend to 7th.  This is the fabulous Federal Building on Mission at 7th that I can't get enough of:

I continued on 7th to Brannon and stopped in at REI to replace a screw that had fallen off of one of my mountain shoes.  Then I continued to Potrero.  This is pretty San Francisco General.  That's currently under a lot of construction.  I'm interested to see what they're doing:

    Such lovely detail:

I continued on Potrero to 24th.  This is 24th from Harrison.  Such a great neighborhood with so many fabulous buildings:

I continued on 24th to Valencia to Tiffany to 29th to San Jose to Wilder to Diamond to Monterey.  This is Monterey from Santa Clara:

    The view down Santa Clara:

I continued on Santa Clara to Portola to Claremont to Dewey to Laguna Honda into 9th.  This is the view down Judah from 9th with the sun just starting to set:

I took Judah to 7th and into Golden Gate Park.  I stopped by the Shakespeare Garden for a pic with my bike which has been recently been spectacularly cleaned by Brandon at REI.  It looks fabulous:

I headed over to the Music Concourse and got a pic of the De Young with the sun setting behind it:

    Me:

    The California Academy of Science:

I took JFK to the Panhandle to Stanyan to Page to Scott to Duboce to Castro to 17th and home for dinner.  Mr. Poe had just gotten home so we had a late dinner and then we went to bed.

Sunday I rode a Different Spokes ride up Mount Tam to Pan Toll.  Sadly, I forgot my camera so I didn't take any picks.  Everybody rode pretty well and I felt strong on the long climb up.  I had big dreams about heading over to Alpine Dam Lake, but none of the other riders were going and it was foggy, cold and windy on the mountain.  Plus, everybody was going to have lunch at Cafe Del Soul and I love that place.  I had this tofu curry wrap that was highly tasty.  I winged through the Castro Street Fair on my way home and it was crowded.  You can barely make out the performance from Cheer SF in these crappy photos taken with my Iphone:

I was charged with the duty of making sure the dogs don't have another restless night so after lunch Saturday I took them for a long walk through Ashbury Heights over to the Farnsworth Steps.  The Farnsworth steps are named after famous inventor Philo Farnsworth who at one time lived at the top of them.  You can read more about him here.  Here are the dogs on the steps.  Rufus loves to go!

This is the view from the top of the Farnsworth Steps:

    Pretty homes on Edgewood Ave:

The forest on Sutro Heights as seen from Woodland:

I headed over to Stanyan and marched past one of my friend Nick's old apartments.  This being Nickmas, I stopped at the top of Stanyan for pics.  This is the forest on Sutro Heights as seen from Belgrave:

    The view down Stanyan.

    Me:

We headed over Tank Hill and made our way to Romain St.  It was much less foggy there than in Cole Valley:

We headed home.  Rufus could have walked for a couple of more hours but the little ones were exhausted by the time we got home.  Ashley, I think, will likely call Poodle Protective Services to protest the extended forced march.

I didn't make it home over lunch on Friday so after work I came directly home up Market to rescue the dogs.  We had a quiet evening at home and I got a little work done and we went to bed early.  The dogs didn't sleep well so neither did anyone else.
