I worked from home in the morning and went into the office after lunch. After work I went for a fun ride. The rain is coming in a lot later than they predicted and it was warm, windy, damp and unsettled. I love this weather. I headed down Columbus and stopped for a few pics along the way. This is the view looking up Kearny from Columbus:

Looking up Columbus from Grant. You can see the storm slowly sliding in:
For all the time I’ve been riding after work, I’ve ridden Columbus to North Point. The problem with that route is that Columbus past Washington Square turns into an increasing clusterfuck with cabs, tourists, tracks, and Marin traffic trying to get on Bay. I’ve concluded that the way to go is to ride Columbus to Stockton to North Point which has much less of an eek factor. This super cute jogger was racing me up Stockton. He was impressively fast. I think we can all appreciate a man with a lot of stamina. I took North Point to Bay and then went into Fort Mason and stopped to get pics of this Benny Bufano sculpture. Ah, Benny Bufano. He’s the California artist best known for hacking off his trigger finger and sending it to President Wilson at the outbreak of World War I. I can think of three Bufano sculptures in San Francisco: this one in Fort Mason, one at the city college, and one on Brotherhood Way that formerly graced the International terminal at SFO. I’d be keen to visiting any more of them that might be lying around. Fabulous:
The first time I saw this I thought it was Suri Cruise:
The Golden Gate Bridge from Fort Mason:
I got on Marina Blvd to Old Mason and stopped for a pic of the Golden Gate Bridge from Crissy Field. I noted a big triangular shaped thing on the Marin Headlands that wasn’t there the last time I looked:
Zoomed in I could see that it was a big fabric barrier to prevent erosion. It looks like the construction on Conzelman was more involved than repaving. Which kind of sucks because that makes me think they aren’t gonna be done with it anytime soon:
I headed up to Lincoln and then made my way over to Immigrant Point for a couple of pics. Look at this incredible view:

I headed down to the new fabulous renovation that will be apartments when completed. Nobody’s moved in yet and I’m very interested to see the range of population that’s gonna go in. Because it’s a big building with big building features that isn’t in a big building neighborhood. I think that the units will all be rentals and I’ll be interested to see the community they end up with:
I got on Lake to 8th and into Golden Gate Park. I headed over to the Music Concourse and got some pic. This is the De Young Museum:
This is the Twin Peaks tower rising behind the California Academy of Sciences with sculptures from the music concourse in the foreground:
The Lions of the De Young which I believe is the only remaining part of the old museum:
I headed over to MLK and came out of the park at 9th. I got a shot looking towards the Twin Peaks antenna from Lincoln and 9th:

I took to Judah to 7th into Laguna Honda to Portola to Corbett to Ord and home for dinner. Mr. Poe’s feeling much better which bodes well for me being taken out to dinner on Saturday night. Stay tuned. In addition I managed to get my homework done. It’s done— it ain’t pretty– but it’s done. I also made some Eggplant for Nathan’s party on Saturday and it’s gonna be just delicious. Mmmmmmmm.
I’m going to bed early tonight. I’m pretty beat.
