I didn't do a lot of biking on Wednesday.  I just came down Market into work and went home the same way at the end of the day.  I think it was a combination of lazy and hung over.  I did manage to drag my ass out of bed this morning and I went for a nice ride before work.  I headed off Corbett to Portola to Woodside to Dewey to Taravel and down to the coast.  I came up the Great Highway and stopped at the Cliff House for pics of the beach.  It was foggy and pretty miserable:

Yet people were still out surfing:

I continued up to Geary to 34th and up to the Palace of the Legion of Honor.  Here's me in front of it:

    Pax Jerusalemme:

I got on Camino Del Mar to Lake where I stopped for pics.  You can just barely see the Golden Gate Bridge shrouded by fog to the right in this pic:

    Pretty homes on Lake Street:

I love this glorious Maya Revival Deco House from the twenties or the thirties.  It's so fabulous:

I continued on Lake to Arguello to Clay to Fillmore to Post.  This is the view down Stockton from Post.  We're getting a Dior Homme!  Which doesn't remove the sting from our YSL closing entirely but it helps.

I continued on Post to Kearny to Bush to Sansome and into work.

After work I headed home and had a quick snack and then went down to Peet's to meet some of the Different Spokes guys for a ride.  We rode around Lake Merced and it was really fun.  After, I ran home and collected Mr. Poe and we went to La Mediterranee for dinner and that was pretty tasty.  From there Mr. Poe went home and took David who was sleeping at our house with him and I headed to 440 Castro with Ben, Roger, and Michael.  I ran into my old college friend Jeremy who's now bartending there.  It was lots of fun and I probably stayed out too late.

I managed to get up and got a nice ride in before work this morning.  The weather was awesome if by "awesome" you mean cold, foggy, and drizzly.  I headed off 17th to Eureka to 18th to Valencia to Mission to Silver to Alemeny to Sagamore to Brotherhood Way to Lake Merced.  The lake was peaceful and pretty in the cool morning light:

I continued on Lake Merced to John Muir to Skyline to the Great Highway and into Golden Gate Park at MLK.  I took MLK to Middle to Transverse to JFK to the Panhandle to Masonic to Hayes.  These are the famous painted ladies as seen from Hayes and Steiner:

I took Steiner and stopped for a pic of a pretty Victorian at Steiner and McAllister:

I continued on Steiner to Golden Gate to Market.  This is the view looking up Montgomery from Market:

I continued on Market to Sansome and into work.

I couldn't get my ass out of bed Monday morning so I just came down Market into work.  I headed home for lunch and then went for a nice ride after work.  I took Sutter to Fillmore to Clay to Spruce to Washington to Arguello to Cabrillo to Funston and into Golden Gate Park at the Rose Garden. The Rose Garden was looking pretty crappy on account of the cold, foggy weather we've been having.  But I got a couple of nice pics.

    Me:

I headed over to Stow Lake and got a nice shot of the Chinese Pavilion:

I took MLK to La Playa to Irving to the Great Highway to Taravel to Merced to Hernandez to Laguna Honda to Portola to Corbett and home for dinner.

Saturday I didn't do any biking at all.  I went shopping in the afternoon with Mr. Poe and then we headed up to Nathans to get some furniture he'd decided was too big for his new apartment and he was giving away.  On the way home up Market, I was delighted and horrified by the sight of two completely naked men walking up Market at Noe.  If you live in San Francisco, you're probably used to the sight of naked people lounging about at the many street festivals but this is the first time I've seen naked people just out for a walk.  It looked to me like they'd lost a bet, but the next day my friend David told me that he'd seen the same sight the week before.  New trend??

Sunday was the Different Spokes annual picnic up at China Camp.  I'd never been before and it was lots of fun.  Most of the attendees rode their bikes there and enough people drove that there were people to carry the food.  I sadly didn't get any pictures at all but it was a pretty day and Mr. Poe (who drove) and I had a good time.

I actually managed to get up and get my ass out on the bike this morning.  No, seriously.  I headed off Corbett to Portola to Woodside to Dewey to Taravel and down to the coast.  I came down the Great Highway and stopped at the foot of Sloat for pics of the beach on the foggy, foggy morning:

Wednesday I was pretty unproductive on my bike.  Just down Market into work and home the same way.  Thursday I did a little better.  I came into work down Market and went home for lunch and then went for a ride after work.  I headed off Columbus to North Point to Van Ness to Francisco to Octavia to Chestnut to Lyon and into the Presidio at the Lombard Gate.  Part of Lincoln is closed right now so I had to head down to Crissy Field and then headed back up to Lincoln where I stopped and got some pics just west of the Golden Gate Bridge:

    Me:

I continued on Lincoln into Camino Del Mar and stopped in Lincoln Park for a pic of the Golden Gate Bridge.  You get this view from the golf course:

I continued on Camino Del Mar up to the Palace of the Legion of Honor.  Which I haven't been to after work in forever:

I headed down to 34th to Balboa and down to the coast.  I stopped for a few pics of the beach:

I took the Great Highway and went into Golden Gate Park at JFK and followed that to the Panhandle to Stanyan to Page to Central to Haight to Buena Vista East to Upper Terrace to Loma Vista to Roosevelt to 17th to Mars to Corbett to Ord and home for dinner.  It was a nice ride.  I've been so lazy this month it felt great to be moving again.

I worked from home on Monday and didn't bike at all.  I went into work on Market and home for lunch on Tuesday and then headed back home up Market at the end of the day.  I'm experiencing a bit of a glamour lull.  I'm peeling from the gruesome sunburn I got in New Orleans and look a bit like a reptile that's shucking it's skin.  Yuck.  In addition, I have boil the size of a marble on my forehead where the pad on my helmet sits.  It's a little uncomfortable and I look like I got whacked in the head with a baseball bat.  Not pretty at all.  I did as good of a job with the concealer as I could and we headed down to Sumi for dinner.  They're closing at the end of the week and I'm going to miss them.  There food is fantastic and there's a bunch of things on the menu that I can eat.  We headed home after and I had to do some work before bed.

Saturday I did the Different Spokes jersey ride out to Tiburon.  It was the longest ride I'd done since the Lifecycle and it's the middle of July!  Ugh,  I'm getting so out of shape which gives me the sads.  We had pretty good weather and we all had a lot of fun on the ride.  I was still very sunburned so I kept a couple of layers on all day to keep myself from getting any more sun.

The gang assembled at the bridge:

    Drama:

A foggy view of the bridge from Belvedere Island:

A super cute pic of Larry:

I got home and got cleaned up and we headed over to Mr. Chris's to watch a movie in their super fantastic cinema room.  We watched "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" which was in Swedish with subtitles.  It was very, very good but it was predictably very, very moody.  I made them some deviled eggs for the party because everybody loves things that have been deviled.
