I continued on 18th to Valencia to Mission to Silver to Alemany to Sagamore to Brotherhood Way to Lake Merced to John Muir to Skyline to the Great Highway and up the coast.  I went into Golden Gate Park at MLK and followed that to the Music Concourse where I stopped for pics.  The De Young:

I got on JFK to 8th to Lake to Arguello and into the Presidio.  I came out of the Presidio at the Lombard Gate and took Chestnut to Laguna to Polk to North Point to the Embarcadero to Broadway to Davis to pick up my laundry and then Washington to Sansome and into work.  I’m completely exhausted.  So much so that I left my laundry in the parking garage where I lock up my bike and totally forgot about if for almost an hour.  Luckily, the nice guy that runs the garage noticed it and held it for me.  This was pretty much it on the bike ride til Monday morning.  I’m not going home for lunch because I’ve got a dentist appointment and I’m just going home up Market after work because we’re going to a party tonight.  I’m off the bike the next all weekend because of Mr. Poe’s birthday festivities.  This is good– I need the rest.

The day warmed up like I’d hoped it would and it was generally gorgeous in San Francisco allday.  After work I headed off Sutter to Presidio to Euclid to Arguello to Cabrillo to Funston and into the Rose Garder.  Which looked beautiful:

I continued on Monterey to Diamond to Wilder to Arlington to Randall to San Jose to Duncan to Valencia to 18th to Douglass to 17th to Ord and home for dinner.  I’m beat.  Totally exhausted.  You don’t realize what kind of shape you’re in until you get out of shape and then try to get it back.  It’s so hard.  But I’m not deterred.

It was incredibly foggy yet again this morning, but kind of patchy and I think it’s gonna burn off early and be a beautiful day.  I headed off Corbett to Clayton to Parnassus to Cole to Waller to Stanyan and went into Golden Gate Park at JFK.  I followed it to Bernice Rodgers to MLK to the Great Highway and down the coast.  Foggy:

It was cold and foggy again when I set out this morning.  I took Corbett to Portola to Woodside to Dewey to Taravel and down to the coast.  I came up the Great Highway and went up the big hill at Cliff House and then got on Geary to 36th.  This is pretty Shore View St from 36th:

After work I headed off 2nd to Howard to 11th to Bryant to stop in to Sports Basement and exchange the inflation cartridges I had gotten on Monday for larger ones that would fit my charger.  $3 each!  I’m pining for the days when I could get 4 for $2.  I continued on Bryant to 25th to Valencia to Tiffany.  This is the view up towards Bernal Heights from Tiffany:

I took the Embarcadero to Market to California to Sansome and into work.  If cleared up a bit mid day and my ride home for lunch was sunny but still pretty cool.  Ah, summer.

After work I rode Sansome to Jackson to Davis to drop off my laundry and then Broadway to the Embarcadero to Howard to 11th to Bryant to stop in at Sports Basement for tubes and inflation cartridges.  Sadly, they don’t have cheap CO2 cannisters anymore.  The ones I got are too small and I’m going to have to exchange them for ones that cost $3 each!  The ones I had before were $2 for four.  I continued on Bryant to 25th to Valencia to Tiffany to 29th to San Jose to Wilder to Diamond to Monterey.  This is Saint Francis Wood.  Note still foggy and cold:

Nobody showed up for my Different Spokes ride.  Which was fine.  I elected to do a much longer ride than the Lagunatis one I had planned.  Which was a big mistake.  I headed over to Marin and then into Fairfax and then over White’s Hill into San Geronimo Valley and then up Nicasio Valley Road into Nicasio Valley and then up Lucas Valley Rd.  Here’s a pic of Lucas Valley from Big Rocks:

I started feeling pretty tired in China Camp.  It was a combination of too many miles, too much climbing, too much sun, too much saddle time, and too little food.  I limped into Mill Valley and stopped for lunch at Cafe Del Soul which was a very good idea because it gave the energy to make it back into the city.  I got home about 5PM, took a shower, ate a bit and went to bed at 6:30.  I proceeded to sleep 12 hours.  I’ll stick to the rides on my schedule for a while!

We slept in a little this morning.  I might have been a little hung over.  We finally got moving mid day and we headed over to Golden Gate Park.  First stop was my beloved Rose Garden.  Which was a bit mildew-ey because the weather in the city has been so foggy lately except for yesterday.  Here’s Mr. Poe amongst the blooms.  Hello gorgeous!

There’s a pretty amazing collection of tribal art in at the De Young.  Loves it:

Mr. Poe tells me that they had to sell most of the important works to finance the construction of the De Young.  The collection they do have is still very pretty although lacking in a lot of big names and also lacking in sculpture and fine arts, although they do have a lovely textile collection and a library as well (appointment only).  Here are a few highlights:

Then we headed over to the California Academy of Sciences.  We only had to wait about twenty minutes to get into the rainforest exhibit.  Which was great because the wait was over an hour last time we went.  It’s a very interesting exhibit.  Likey:
