I made about ten full revolutions on the bicycle last night which is a huge step forward and something I'm very happy about.  I'm a couple of weeks ahead of schedule and I think I'm pretty much on track to be bicycling outside by the middle of August.   I can also report that I'm walking both up and down stairs now which feels kind of weird but isn't painful.

I wanted to take the Divisadero bus to Geary and walk to work through Japantown but I was way too late for that so I took the subway to Civic Center and took Hyde to California and then down into the Financial District on Sacramento.  It's cold and a little drizzly but that's summer in San Francisco.

Here I am in UN Plaza:

    Decolicious commercial building:

    Nicely detailed:

This apartment building at Hyde and Turk is amazing.  It has the most exuberant decoration:

    Incredible:

This building a few blocks up the hill is much simpler but nicely proportioned:

This is the Masonic Center.  I've never been inside. It's very modern fabulous on the exterior:

    This is fantastic/amazing/incredible

I love the mosaic background on these reliefs.  It's a little YMCA isn't it??

Today's my first full day without my leg brace and my knee feels really tight, like it's wrapped in tape, but I'm not in any pain at all which is good.  I hopped on the bike this morning and noted that I'm getting more range out of my knee than yesterday.  Looking good!  I managed to cajole Mr. Poe into taking me out to lunch so I headed over to Bloomingdale around noon to meet him.

This is probably my favorite building in San Francisco, the Humboldt State Bank building:

    The Phelan Building:

The Flood Building (probably my second favorite).

We had lunch at Out the Door which was Vietnalicious.  I had this curry thing and Mr. Poe had soup.  Hello gorgeous!

We headed back to my office.  This building has two kind of sketchy additionsm, one on either side.  The seventies piece on the right was bad enough but the new wing on the left is pretty much awful.  They aren't reading as separate buildings to me because of the similarities in height so it just looks kind of crappy.

Me on Market St.  Look!  I'm wearing pants!  For the first time in two months.

I'd never noticed this See's slogan before.  It made me giggle because the See's lady looks a little meth faced if you ask me.

And then I was back to work.  We've got Miss Sofi for the whole weekend!  I'm so excited.  She brought her own clog dancing shoes.

I headed out midday to go see the doctor about my knee.  This is the view looking down Geary Street for the dreaded 38 Geary bus.

My doctor's visit went really well.  My knee has almost completely healed and looks great and I can begin working on increasing my range of motion so I can get back on my bike.  The plan is to work until I can spin on the bike for range of motion and then start working on strength.  Stay tuned!

I got some pics on my way back to the office.  This is the view down Leavenworth towards the Central Tower:

This building on Grant between Sutter and Bush is now Condos and is super nice.  It doesn't have parking but you're so right in the middle of everything.

    Chinatown Gate on Grant:

    Grant Street views:

Transamerica Pyramid as seen from Chinatown:

I got a few new comic books that I ready while I was waiting at Kaiser.  My new favorite is Captain Marvel.  Who's totally hot.  And partially insect.  And possibly sexually ambiguous:

You can read more about him here.  Here he is wearing clothes:

I've been sick for a week.  Not pleasant.  Not pleasant at all.  My nausea has finally been reduced to a minimum and I'm feeling a bit better and back at work.  And not a moment too soon.  Mr. Poe is home for the summer and has embarked on a program of home improvement that leads me to believe that he ran a forced labor camp in a former life.  Hopefully he can avoid standing on rickety chairs and cracking ribs like he did in August.  The dogs are exhausticated from all the work.  I've had a look at Mimi's timecard and she's been putting in a lot of overtime.  Which is good because it also gives her a convenient alibi for the massacre at the "Beggin' Strips" factory.  Dogs don't know it's not bacon my ass.  Here they are:

I went to go visit Mr. Chris around lunchtime.  Sweet little Sofi is likely the happiest dog on earth:

This is Mr. Chris with Sofi and her country cousin Lucy who seems very happy and uncharacteristically normal.  Either she really likes staying with Mr. Chris, David and Sofi or Mr. Chris has been sneaking downers in her food.  Even money on which it is:

Little Lucy ... happy at last:

We headed to Chipotle for burrito on my way back from work.  I don't know about you, but when I've been sick and haven't been eating much for a couple of days I always make the move for mexican food as soon as I'm feeling the least bit better.  Which is almost always a bad idea yet I keep doing it.  Burrito was delicious but I spent much of the rest of the day hoping it was gonna stay down.

    Howard Street from 2nd:

This is the entrance to the Pac Bell building on New Montgomery.  It's a shame that this building has fallen into such disrepair and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the next housing bubble will see it restored to its original glamour:

I went home and went to bed a little early.  I'm was pretty wiped out.
