I got up early on Saturday and went for a great bike ride up into Marin. I ran into my friend Ben at the Cheese Factory . He's one of my favoritest people. Never mind what I've said about him behind is back and in print:
The Cheese Factory Lake was totally full and then some:
We ended up doing Marshall Wall together. Ben is a much stronger athlete than I am and I really had to struggle to keep up with his pace which he had already sharply reduced for me. Almost embarassing. Maybe a little embarassing. Here he is at the top of Marshall Wall:
The gorgeous view of Tamales Bay:
We had a big tailwind the whole way up and the whole way down. Ben hit 50mph on his bike. I went at a less crazy pace. I stopped at a bucolic farm to get a pic. Sadly, the pics of the adorable baby sheep didn't turn out because they were so precious. I was praying they were sweater sheep and not dinner sheep:
We headed down to Tamales Bay and then into Point Reyes Station. We stopped for a break. I was dyin'. It was the longest ride I'd done in a couple of months and I was riding a LOT faster than I usually do.
We headed over the Olema Hill and then back up through Samuel P Taylor park to Fairfax. Ben left me at the bottom of the Lagunitas side of White's hill and I was able to continue at a bit of a more merciful pace. I stopped for more snack in Fairfax. Here I am, ridden hard and put away wet:
I headed home and Mr. Poe had made me dinner. I sat in the hot tub and went to bed early.
