After work,  I headed off 2nd to Howard to 11th to Bryant to the Sports Basement for a Different Spokes meeting.  They've decided to have an annual recruitment meeting to try to attract new members.  Not a huge turnout but I got to see a lot of my friends.  Here are Jerome, David, and Dave:

I went home Bryant to 17th to Ord and home for dinner.  Mr. Poe had gotten home early so the dogs were already a little tired.  Which I approve of.

It was a little warmer this morning.  I'll take it.  I headed off 17th to Eureka to 18th to Valencia to Tiffany to 29th to San Jose to Wilder to Diamond to Bosworth to Lyell to Alemany to Sagamore to Brotherhood Way to Lake Merced to John Muir to Skyline to the Great Highway and up the coast.  It was cool and breezy at the beach:

I continued on the Great Highway and then went into Golden Gate Park at MLK.  They're still working on the South Windmill.  I think it's still going to be many months before it's done:

I continued on MLK to Middle to Transverse to JFK.  I love the deYoung.  It looks so interesting and so varied depending on the time of day:

I continued on JFK to 8th to Lake to Arguello and into the Presidio.  I came out the Lyon Street Gate and then took Chestnut to Laguna to Francisco to Polk.  I love the Fontana Buildings at North Point to Polk.  I've made no secret of it:

    .

I continued on Polk to North Point.  I love seeing the enormous cruise ships docked at Fisherman's Wharf.  They're massive:

I continued on North Point to the Embarcadero.  Which looked lovely as always:

I continued on the Embarcadero to Washington.  This is the Embarcadero Center:

    Maritime Plaza:

    Me:

I continued on Washington to Sansome and into work.

Mr. Poe didn't get in on Sunday night until very late so we all slept in on Monday morning and I just came down Market into work.  After work I headed off Sansome to Jackson to Davis to drop off my dry cleaning and then Broadway to the Embarcadero.  I got a few pics as I headed east.

    The Ferry Building:

The Financial District from Embarcadero Plaza:

    The Bay Bridge:

I continued on the Embarcadero to Brannon into Potrero.  This is San Francisco General Hospital.  I think the decoration is Persian.

    It's finely detailed:

    Gorgeous:

I continued on Potrero to 25th to Valencia to Tiffany to 29th to San Jose to Wilder to Diamond to Circular to Marston and into City College and then Phelan to Ocean to Lee to Holloway to Font to Lake Merced to John Muir.  Lake Merced is very, very full right now.  Pretty:

I continued on John Muir to Skyline to the Great Highway.  There was still a lot of sun as I was heading North:

    Me on the Great Highway:

I continued to Vicente and headed East.  I haven't taken pics of Saint Cecilia's in a long time.  I think that's because it's been dark when I went by.  It's such a lovely church:

Gorgeous detail with a show stopping glazed bell shaped bell tower roof:

I continued on Vicente to 16th to Taravel to Merced to Hernandez to Laguna Honda to Portola to Corbett to Ord and home for dinner.  I'm so happy Mr. Poe is home.  I missed him so much.  We had dinner and then I took the dogs out for a walk.  Sofi is still with us and she's still having a great time.

Nathan sent a few of the pics from the party on Friday Night.  He's such a good photographer.

When I went to bed the weather said rain and hail(!) all morning.  It seemed to me pretty likely that my ride would be canceled AGAIN.  But when I got up the next morning it looked OK.  I got on my bike and headed over to Sports Basement.  It was blustery and a little wet but I thought it was going to be OK.   When I got there people didn't seem very hopeful.

    Buzz and Charles:

    Davida and Courtney:

Only 19 people, ride leaders included, showed up.  Many of the riders elected to go in cars to the other side of the Golden Gate Bridge so they wouldn't have to deal with the wind.  I followed the remaing riders over.  The weather started looking worse and worse and it was raining pretty hard as I was leaving Sausalito.  But at least there were rainbows:

Everybody pretty much turned around at Mike's Bikes or the bike path leaving just a couple of riders in front of me.  I didn't want to leave them unsupported and it looked to me like the weather was going to clear up.  And it did.  It was still cold and windy but the sun came out and the remaining two riders and I had a great day.  Davida and Yasmen were the brave two who went round Nicasio Reservoir with me.  We had a great time.  Here they are in Fairfax:

Nicasio was especially pretty.  Cool, clear, and very green:

We got in about 3:30.  I had Big Lantern delivered and hung out with the dogs and then I did a little work and went to bed.  Mr. Poe got home around midnight.  I'm missed him.

Mr. Poe's still out of town and I've got the sads over it.  I got up and took the dogs for a long walk.  They were all still pretty tired from the previous evening.  I got a couple of pics of the dogs lounging:

Then I went to REI to pick up my new bike shoes which had come in and to get a new backpack.  Then I helped my friend Ben unpack in his glamorous new home a few blocks away.  Then I headed home and lounged with the dogs and watched a few movies.  I managed to stay up til almost 11!

I came home up Market a little early.  I had a party for Sofi that night.  Everybody had a great time.

Rufus and Ashley were getting pretty tuckered out from all the fun:

    Sofi too:

Mimi now lets Nathan pick her up in my presence:

Nathan, Russ, Richard, and Donald showed up for the party.  We drank wine and had snack.  I made deviled eggs anticipating a southern co-worker of Nathan's who, unfortunately, was not able to make it.  We headed out to dinner and met Alex at Nirvana.  Afterwards I went home and went to bed.  I was beat.

Sofi was up and down quite a bit last night so we didn't sleep that well and so I slept in a little this morning and I went on a much shorter ride.  I headed off 17th to Eureka to 19th to Harrison to 10th to Bryant.  This is the view down Bryant towards One Rincon Hill:

    I love this building:

I continued on Bryant and got lots of shots of the Bay Bridge:

    More One Rincon Hill

Me on Bryant and the Embarcadero:

I took the Embarcadero to Washington to Sansome and into work.

The weather got increasingly gorgeous as the day wore on.  Finally!  After work I headed of 2nd to Howard to 11th into Bryant to Mariposa to Florida.  There's a lot of pretty Victorian cottages in that part of the Mission and the neighborhood keeps getting better and better:

I continued on Florida to 24th where I saw this awesome mural at 24th and South Van Ness(I think):

    Nicely detailed:

I continued on 24th to Valencia to Tiffany to 29th to San Jose to Wilder to Diamond to Monterey.  Spring has come to St. Francis Wood and it looks fabulous:

    Me in St. Francis Wood:

I continued on Monterey into Santa Clara to Portola to Claremont to Dewey into Laguna Honda into 7th to Irving to 9th and into Golden Gate Park.  This shot if from the back of the Music Concourse looking towards the California Academy of Sciences:

I headed over to JFK to 8th to Balboa into Turk to Central to McAllister to Laguna to Market to 17th to Ord and home for dinner.  Mr. Poe was working late so I fed both myself and the dogs.  Nobody was happy about that.

I got some pics while I was home over lunch.  Sofi's having such a good time.  She loves to play with the boys and Mimi, well Mimi stayed in the study on her futon and tried not to bark so much.

I managed to get out of the house pretty much on time which was no small feat considering we have another dog this week.  I headed off Corbett to Portola to Woodside to Dewey to Taravel and down to the coast.  I came up the Great Highway up to Geary to 34th and then up to the Palace of the Legion of Honor.  Which looked gorgeous:

    Reflecting pool with Pax Jerusalemme:

Me at the Palace of the Legion of Honor:

The misty view over to Marin:

I came down Camino Del Mar to Lake to Arguello to Clay.  This house is unusual in that it is one of the rare cases in this city where I think that a garage addition is a huge improvement over the original.  I think the garage level as well as the beautiful, graceful arched windows with french doors and the patio above it are all an addition on a much older house.  You wouldn't guess it if you weren't looking for it.  It looks incredible:

I continued on Clay to Fillmore.  This building on Fillmore at California is very pretty:

    With showstopping windows:

I continued on Filllmore to Post.  I got a shot of Japantown looking west down Post from Laguna:

I continued on Post to Kearny.  This is Pine, I think, from Kearny.  Such great buildings:

I continued on Kearny to Bush to Sansome and into work.
