It wasn’t raining this morning!  Huzzah!  It’s a bit cooler but I’m not complainin’.  So got off my ass and jumped on my bike.  I headed off Corbett to Portola to Woodside to Dewey to Taravel and down to the coast.  I came up the Great Highway and then got on Geary to 34th and up to the Palace of the Legion of Honor.  Which looked gorgeous in the clear morning light:

My AM ride got rained out again so I came down Market into work.  It cleared up in the afternoon but it started getting much cooler.  After work I headed off Sansome to Jackson to Davis to drop off my dry cleaning.  Then I continued to Broadway to the Embarcadero to Howard where I got a great view of One Rincon Hill:

I continued on Howard to 11th to Bryant to Precita to Mission to 29th to San Jose to Arlington to Bosworth to Lyell to Alemeny to Sagamore to Brotherhood Way.  And let me tell you.  Sagamore and Brotherhood Way might be OK in the morning and on weekends, but at night during rush hour that whole area is a major eek on a bike and best to be avoided.  I continued to Lake Merced to John Muir to Syline to the Great Highway and up the coast to Fulton to La Playa to Cabrillo to 8th and into Golden Gate Park to JFK to the Panhandle to Stanyan.  Yes, Stanyan.  A reader pointed out that I’ve been spelling it ‘Stanyon’ for the longest time and that isn’t correct.  Kind of like the blogger equivalent of pointing out spinach in your teeth. Thanks, Brad!  I continued on Stanyan to Page to Scott to Duboce to Castro to 17th to Ord and home for dinner.  Mr. Poe was late yet again so I the dogs and I had dinner and then I had to work a little before bed.

I’m slowly digesting all the comics I bought on Wednesday night.  It’s going to take a long time.  The coolest one I’ve found so far is Avengers #464 in which earth is defeated by a time traveling maniac.  The entire issue is completely devoid of text.  It’s amazing.  Here’s Thor staggering through the streets of a destroyed Washington DC.  Amazing:

My morning ride got rained out again.  I’m sick of rain.  It cleared off a bit when I went home for lunch.  I could see it still looked pretty unstable:

After work I headed off Columbus to North Point to Van Ness to Francisco to Octavia to Chestnut to Lyon and into the Presidio.  I got on Lincoln and took that into Camino Del Mar to 25th to Cabrillo to 47th to Fulton to the Great Highway and down the coast to Skyline to Lake Merced to Font to Holloway to Lunado to Cerritos to Ocean and I stopped by the Comic Outpost.  They have this deal where if you’re a subscriber, they save your comics from your subscription list and you come and pick them up at your leisure.  You get a little price break on new comics but a big discount on back issues.  I’m trying to fill some yawning holes in my comic collection.  They’re really nice there but it’s such a schlep to get out there that the discount isn’t really worth it on the new titles and I’ll probably cancel my subscription when I’ve run through their back issues although that will take a long time.  But  I pretty much cleaned them out on Avengers:

I managed to get up on time and out of the house to ride for the first time in it seems forever.  I headed off 17th to Eureka to 18th to Valencia to Tiffany to 29th to San Jose to Wilder to Diamond to Bosworth to Lyell to Alemany to Sagamore,  The fog was really thick but really patchy.  You’d have no visibility for a mile and then the sun would be shining on you.  I don’t get that.  This is a cool building on Sagamore at the 280.  It’s got a lot going on:

I continued on Sagamore to Brotherhood to Lake Merced to John Muir to Skyline to the Great Highway and up the coast.  I went into Golden Gate Park at MLK and took it to Middle to Transverse to JFK.  The park looked beautiful and I stopped for some pics:

My Lifecycle ride got rained out again on Sunday which totally sucked so Mr. Poe and I spent the day cleaning out closets and concluded that we’d never finished unpacking when we moved to Ord Court in 2003.  I got a bunch of computer stuff that I’d been putting off doing and it was a very productive day. 

Monday morning it was still really wet so I just came down Market into work and it dried out as the day progressed.  After I work I headed off 2nd to Howard.  This is Howard St looking west at the convention center:

The weather was OK on Saturday and I should have gone riding but I had a hair appointment in the afternoon so I couldn’t.  Mr. Poe and I went to the linen sale at Macy where we got new sheets for our bed.  Non chewed on sheets!  We’re getting all fancy!  Then we went to lunch at the Westfield Center where Mr. Poe ate a huge bowl of clam chowder and a large quantity of calimari and then I had to put him back on the subway because he needed a nap.  I went shopping and was kind shocked at how empty so many of the stores were.  Macy was packed because they had a sale but Barney was empty and the salespeople at Neiman Marcus outnumbered the customers.  I saw this lucky dog with his goggles on in a motorcycle side car heading off with his crazy looking daddy.  Not that I’m one to talk:

They had hot shirtless guys in Hello Kitty heads at the Max counters which just looked off.  Like some kind of wierd plushy fantasy that one shouldn’t have:

Hair took forever as usual but I’m done for another couple of months.

I feel better but I’m still sleeping an awful lot.  I just came down Market into work.  I headed home lunchtime to wait for Fedex and then went to REI before heading back to work.  After work I headed off Columbus to North Point to Van Ness to Francisco to Laguna to Chestnut to Lyon and into the Presidio.  I got on Lincoln and got a great shot of the setting sun from just west of the Golden Gate Bridge:

I went down on the Great Highway and went into Golden Gate Park at JFK and took it to the Panhandle to Stanyon to Page to Scott to Duboce to Castro to 17th to Ord and home.  Mr. Poe was at a move and m friend Russ came over for dinner.  Mimi has decided she likes Russ and consented to sit in his lap.  Amazing.  It’s hard to believe that this is the dog who is on the no fly list for good reason:
