  • Friday, September 19

I got up and headed off 17th to Eureka to 18th to Valencia to Tiffany to 29th to San Jose to Wilder to Diamond to Monterey to Gennessee to Staples to Hazelwood to Greenwood to Plymouth to Wildwood to Faxon to Ocean to Cerritos into Winston.  I stopped at  Junipero Serra and got a shot of the sun coming up from behind the Ingleside:

I continued on Windston to Lake Merced.  The lake looked pretty in the early morning light:

I continued on Lake Merced to Skyline to the Great Highway.  I came up the coast and went into Golden Gate Park at JFK.  I followed  that to 8th to Balboa into Turk.  USF looked gorgeous.  Bright, sunny, and the glamorous staircase can't be beat:

The view looking west towards the ocean:

I continued on Turk to Broderick to O'Farrell to Divisadero to Geary where I stopped to pick up some prescriptions at Kaiser.  I showed up a half an hour before the pharmacy opened so I hung out and waited with some very elderly women, none of us evidently having anything better to do.  I left and took Divisadero to Post.  Japantown looked lovely as usual:

Me with the Japantown Center bridge behind me:

I continued on Post to Kearny to Bush to Sansome and into work.

  • I headed off after work up Columbus and noticed I was getting a flat immediately. @#%#@$!!!!  But it could have been worse.  I could have had to fix it in cold rain in a crappy neighborhood.  Instead, I fixed it in Washington Square Park.  You could do worse:

I continued up Columbus to North Point to Van Ness to Francisco to Franklin to Chestnut to Lyon and into the Presidio.  I stopped at the bridge plaza for a pic of the beautiful day:

    Ship heading out:

    Me in the parking lot:

I continued on Lincoln into Camino Del Mar and then up to the Palace of the Legion of Honor.  It was still open!  Which was unusual.  I didn't go into the courtyard because I was late but I took a few pics:

This is the view of downtown from the parking lot:

The pretty monument in the golf course.

I came out on 34th to Balboa and then down to the coast.   I took the Great Highway to Golden Gate Park and then went in at JFK.  I took that to the Panhandle to Page to Scott to Duboce to Castro to 17th to Ord and home.  Mr. Poe was working late so Ifed the dogs and had dinner and then took them for a long walk.  We had just finished when Mr. Poe got home.

  • Thursday, September 18

It was cold and clear this morning.  I headed off 17th to Eureka to 18th the Valencia to Tiffany to 29th to San Jose to Wilder to Diamond to Monterey to Ridgewood to Flood to Hazelwood to Greenwood to Plymouth to Wildwood to Faxon to De Montefort to Ashton to Head to Holloway to Font to Lake Merced to Skyline to the Great Highway and up the coast.  The rising sun was giveing the offshort fog a pinkish cast.  Pretty:

    Surfers in the water:

I came up the Great Highway and went into Golden Gate Park at JFK and took it to the Panhandle to Stanyon to Page to Franklin to Oak.  This is the San Francisco Conservatory.  It's a nicely detailed building and in really good condition:

I think this building is an extension.  It's complementary without looking like a crappy addition:

This is the Masonic Temple at Van Ness and Oak.  It's an amazing building in this great Florentine Renaissance (?) style that is long on detail and pretty much perfection:

Me across the street from it:

This used to be a High School but is now the headquarters of the school district.  It's a fantastic building that is in increasingly deplorable shape and that's really sad.  The detail is amazing:

Fire damage from earlier in the year has been crappily patched:

I continued on Van Ness to Grove to Market to Sansome and into work.

  • Wednesday, september 17

I took off after work Market to Turk.  I got a couple of shots of this fantastic building that I'm counting the days until somebody restores.  Me likey:

I continued up Turk up onto Lone Mountain.  Here is the view of my favorite radio tower from there.  Yes, I have a favorite radio tower.  Don't judge.me.

    Me on Lone Mountain:

The view looking down Turk towards the ocean.  No fog at all.  Gorgeous:

I continued on Turk to Arguello to Funston and into Golden Gate Park at the Rose Garden which is still crazy in bloom.  I took JFK to Bernice Rodgers to MLK to the Great Highway and down the coast.  I took Rivera to 24th to Santiago to 14th to Taravel to Merced to Hernandez to Laguna Honda to Portola to Corbett to Ord and home for dinner.  Mimi had been to the vet earlier and needed tons of extra kisses.  We all had dinner and then I walked the dogs and then we went to bed.

  • Wednesday, September 17

I managed to get out of the house a little early today!  I headed off Corbett to Clayton to Frederick to Cole to Haight and into Golden Gate Park at JFK.  I followed it to Bernice Rodgers to the Great Highway and down to the coast.  I continued to Skyline to Lake Merced to Winston to Cerritos to Moncado to Urbano to Pico to Ashton to Ocean to Faxon to Elmwood to Westwood.  This pretty house is on Westwood at Mirimar.

I continued on Eastwood to Wildwood to Plymouth to Greenwood to Hazelwood to Staples.  This it the view East from Staples and Foerster:

I continued to Edna to Monterey to Diamond to Wilder to Arlington to Randall to 30th to Valencia to 26th.  This fabulous house is on 26th.  It's seen better days and the neighborhood today isn't really residential, but it's seriously fabuous:

I took 26th to Folsom.  These murals are from a school on Folsom in the 20's.  How gorgeous are they??  They've got such amazing detail and they're so evocative.  Me likey!

I continued on Folsom to 2nd to Sansome and into work.

  • Tuesday, September 16

I headed off after work Market to Geary to Polk.  This is the recently completed First Congregational Church.  It's a gorgeous modern building.  You can read more about them here.

I continued up Polk and saw this movie theatre which has been turned into condos and retail.  It's very interesting and the facade is stunning.  Check out the glass!

I continued on Polk to Jackson.  This house is on Jackson at Franklin (I think).  The trees in front of it keep you from getting a good shot so this is the best view which is sad:

    Me at Franklin and Jackson:

I continued on Jackson to Maple to Washington to Arguello to Lake to 30th to Clement to 34th to Balboa and down to the coast. I came down the Great Highway and got a couple of pic of the beach:

I went into Golden Gate Park at JFK and followed it to the Panhandle to Stanyon to Page to Scott to Duboce to Castro to 17th to Ord and then home.  I had to work a bit and then I had dinner, took the dogs for a walk and went to bed.

I got up and managed to get out of the house a little early this morning.  I know, amazing.  I took 17th to Eureka to 18th to Valencia to Tiffany to 29th to San Jose to Wilder to Diamond to Monterey to Ridgewood to Flood to Hazelwood to Greenwood to Plymouth to Wildwood to Faxon to De Montefort to Ashton to Holloway to Alviso to Urbano to Moncado to Cerritos into Winston to Lake Merced to Skyline to the Great Highway.  I came up the coast and went into Golden Gate Park at JFK and followed it to the Panhandle to Shrader to Hayes to Cole.  This is the view up to St. Ignatius from Cole:

These are some of the houses.  Nice houses on this block but there aren't many trees which makes it look a little dingy:

    Me:

I took Cole to Fulton.  The house on the left is really brightly painted which I love.  Also, it doesn't have a garage which is unusual so you can see the way a lot basement levels in town originally looked:

I took Fulton to Steiner and got a couple shots of Japantown Center from Geary and Steiner:

    Pretty pagoda in Peace Plaza:

I continued on Steiner to Post to Kearny to Bush to Sansome and into work.

  • Monday, September 15

I slept in and just came down Market into work in the morning.  After work I headed off Sansome to Jackson to Davis to drop off my laundry and then Broadway to Embarcadero to Howard to 11th to Harrison to Mariposa to Florida to 22nd to Bryant to Precita to Mission to 29th San Jose to Wilder to Diamond to Monterey to Ridgewood to Flood to Hazelwood to Greenwood to Plymouth to Wildwood to Faxon to Holloway to Font to Lake Merced. I stopped to take a picture of the lake with the golf course behind it:

    Me at the lake:

I continued on Lake Merced to Skyline to the Great Highway.  The sun was low in the horizon and busting through the fog:

I continued on the Great Highway to Taravel to Merced to Hernandez to Laguna Honda to Portola to Corbett to Ord and then home.  Mr. Poe had just gotten home so I took the dogs for a long walk while he got dinner together.  Mimi managed to slip out of her harnass.  I think she's losing a little weight.  Which would be awesome because she's gotten a little chubby and no longer fits into all of her clothes.  Yes we have clothes for her.  Don't judge me.

    Bike Mileage:
    Today                                          29.5

  • Saturday, September 13

I went riding with Different Spokes in the morning.  I couldn't do the whole ride because Rufus had a class but I made it out to Mill Valley and back.  We were a good looking group:

I headed back and went to Rufus' class where he was a good boy and then we headed down the Peninsula for dinner with friends.

I hit 8,000 miles today and I'm really happy about that.

  • Friday, September 12

I didn't get to bed until late the night before because of the TRL training so I slept in and took Market to 17th to Folsom to 2nd to Sansome and into work.

I headed off after work Columbus to North Point to Van Ness to Francisco to Laguna to Chestnut to Lyon and into the Presidio.  I came around on Lincoln and stopped just past the bridge for pics.  Foggy, yet beautiful:

I continued on Lincoln into Camino Del Mar in Seacliff.  Then I took 26th to Geary and took some pics of the Holy Virgin Cathedral from a couple of different angles:

I continued on 26th to Balboa to the Great Highway.  Then I came down the coast and took Taravel to Merced to Hernandez to Laguna Honda to Portola to Corbett to Ord and then home.
