It was sunny when I headed off from my house and took Corbett to Portola to Woodside to Dewey to Taravel.  Around 19th Ave I got into some dense fog and by the time I got to the beach visibility was extremely limited.  I came down the Great Highway to Skyline to Lake Merced to Winston to Cerritos to Ocean to Phelan where I finally got out of the fog at around City College.  I continued to Judson to Foerster to Montery.  I stopped at Congo and took a pic of the thick fog billowing inland:

I continued on Monterey to Diamond to Wilder to Arlington to San Jose to 29th to Tiffany to Valencia where I ran into my friend Geoff on his way to work which was a treat.  I continued on Valencia to 23rd.  This is Mission from 23rd:

I continued on 23rd to Shotwell where I stopped to take pics of Cesar Chavez School.  The murals are unbelievable:

   

  

These are a few of the houses from the next block.  Shotwell between 23rd and about 20th is a gorgeous tree lined street.

  

I continued on Shotwell to 14th to Folsom to 2nd to Market to Sansome and into work.

On my way back to work from lunch I noticed that the rainbow flag in the Castro was flying at half mast for Del Martin who died this week.  You can read more about her here. 

After work I headed off Market to Turk where I got a nice view of the cool recent federal building at Howard and 8th:

I continued on Turk to Arguello to Cabrillo to 8th and into Golden Gate Park.  I went to the Music Concouse and got some pics of the plaza and the fabulous new California Academy of Science slated to open next month:

I headed over to MLK and took it to the Great Highway and then took Ulloa.  I stopped at Knockash hill which is a gated community but had an open gate and a nearby sign made the tantalizing promise of public open space.  It led to a hiking path which I didn’t take because I was in road shoes and had a bike but I might just stop back with Rufus on a sunny morning.  It’s beautiful:

I continued on Ulloa to Laguna Honda to Portola to Corbett.  I saw my friend Kurt on his way to visit my other friend Rick.  Which was a trat.  I continued on down to Ord and home for dinner.

It was warm this morning!  It’s going to get pretty hot this afternoon but it was gorgeous this morning.  I headed off Corbett to Portola to Woodside to Dewey to Taravel and down to the coast.  I came up the Great Highway and stopped a little North of Balboa to take some pics of the beach.  It looked gorgeous:

I took Point Lobos to 45th to Clement to 34th and up to the Palace of the Legion of Honor.  I came down Camino Del Mar and stopped in Seacliff to take some pics.

I continued on Camino Del Mar to Seacliff to 25th to Lincoln and into the Presidio.  I stopped a little west of the Golden Gate Bridge for pics:

I continued on Lincoln to Cowles to McDowell to Crissy Field to Mason.  I stopped at the beach at Crissy Field for some final shots of the bridge:

There are all these globes down at Crissy Field.  It’s from the “Cool Globes” project that you can read more about here.  Thye’re here until September 12.  Some of them are pretty crappy but a lot of them are really neat.  I’m going to go back to look at them when I have more time.  I think Mr. Poe would like them a lot.

I continued on Mason to Marina Blvd and then over Fort Mason to Van Ness to Beach to Columbus to Clay to Sansome and into work.

After work I headed off Sutter to Fillmore to Pacific to Lyon to Jackson to Arguello to Cabrillo to Funston and into Golden Gate Park at the Rose Garden.  Which is profiting from the warm weather we’ve been having and didn’t smell like mildew at all this time.

I took JFK to Transverse to MLK and out of the park at the Great Highway.  I came down the coast and took Taravel to Merved to Hernandez to Laguna Honda to Portola to Corbett to Ord and home.  Mr. Poe had a meeting so I took the dogs to the park.  Ashley tends to move to fast to get a good shot of him playing, but Rufus is a little slower:  Then we went home and had dinner and went to bed.

I headed over to JFK to 8th to Lake to Arguello and into the Presidio.  I came out the Lombard St gate and took Lyon to Greenwich to Steiner to Union to Leavenworth to Green where I stopped to take pics of some of the beautiful buildings on Russian Hill

After work I headed off Columbus to North Point to Van Ness to Francisco to Laguna to Chestnut to Lyon and into the Presidio.  I came around on Lincoln and then got on Camino Del Mar and went through Seacliff up to the Palace of the Legion of Honor which dazzled in the late afternoon sun:

I came out on 34th St and took it to Balboa and down to the coast.  The beach was gorgeous as usual  I’m hoping we’re through with the fog for a while.

I went into Golden Gate Park at JFK and took it to the Panhandle to Stanyon to Page to Lyon to Haight to Buena Vista East to Upper Terrace to Roosevelt to 17th to Ord and home for dinner. 

I hit 7,500 miles today.  I’m 3/4 of the way through my mileage goal for the year and over a month ahead of schedule.  I’m really pleased with that.

No fog this morning!  The first day in a long while that it was totally clear.  It was also a little cold but I’ll take it.  I headed off Corbett to Clayton to Parnassus to Cole to Waller to Stanyon and into Golden Gate Park at JFK.  I followed it down to Bernice Rodgers to the Great Highway and then down the coast.  I stopped a little south of Sloat for some pictures of the sunny ocean:

I continued on Capp to 16th to Folsom and headed downtown.  These are two huge Residential towers on Folsom at Main (?) So pretty in the morning light.

I headed off after work Howard to 11th to Harrison to Mariposa to Bryant.  I saw this fabulous mural at 23rd (I think)??  How cool its it??  Answer:  so cool.

I continued on Bryant to Precita to Mission to 29th to San Jose to Wilder to Diamond to Monterey into Santa Clara into Vicenter to Wawona to Ulloa.  This is Saint Brendans at the top of Ulloa with the radio tower in the background.  It’s Juxtapolicious.

I got on Twin Peaks Blvd and headed over to the viewing platform which I hadn’t been to in a long time.  The views go on forever.

I headed off Corbett to Portola and even though it was clear at my house, it was very foggy with low visibility and also wet (!) by the time I got to Portola.  Yuck.  I continued to Woodside to Dewey to Taravel and down to the coast.  I came up the Great Highway and then went up to Point Lobos to 45th to Clement and then up to the Palace of the Legion of Honor.  It was still too foggy for pics .  I came down Camino Del Mar to McLaren to Lake to Arguello to Washington to Lyon to Broadway to Scott to Union and then up to the top of Russian Hill.  I finally got out of the fog and stopped for pics:
