Look what I saw when I was heading back from lunch.  Don’t tell my dogs that there’s another plateau of laziness they haven’t ascended to yet:

After work I headed off Howard to 11th to Harrison to 26th to Valencia to Tiffany to 29th to San Jose to Wilder to Diamond to Monterey to Ridgewood to Flood to Hazelwood to Greenwood to Plymouth to Wildwood to Faxon to de Montefort to Pico to Urbano to Moncado to Cerritos to Winston to Lake Merced.  It was foggy but not so cold at the lake.  Pretty:

I continued on Lake Merced to Skyline to the Great Highway and then went into Golden Gate Park at MLK.  I took it to Middle to Bowling Green to JFK to Stanyon to Page to Scott to Castro to 17th to Ord and then home.  We’re off to Provincetown Mass tomorrow for vacation and Mr. Poe is all in a dither.

I hit 7,000 miles today which I’m really pleased about.

I headed off this morning Corbett to Portola to Woodside to Dewey to Taravel and down to the coast.  I came down the Great Highway and stopped a little south of Sloat for a shot of the beach which looked a lot calmer than it did last night:

I continued on Valencia to 14th to Folsom to 2nd.  The view from Folsom and 2nd is so pretty and such a big change from when I moved here:

I took 2nd to Market to Sansome and into work.

I watched cartoons all weekend.  Again.  Mr. Poe had the flu and I was looking after him all weekend and lordy he isn’t, you know, low maintenance.  I did, however, manage to make it to the comic book sale at the comic book store on Ocean Ave and got all sorts of good stuff.  They’ve got a lot more back issues than the place in the Castro.  I like. 

I slept in this morning an just came down Market into work.  After work I headed off Sutter Street where I got a few shots of this Victorian.  I’m not sure what it is.  I think it’s a private club.  I love that they varnished as opposed to painted some of the wood on the entrance.  It’s so pretty and so unusual:

I continued on Sutter to Presidio to Euclid to Arguello to Cabrillo and down to the coast.  I came down the Great Highway and stopped south of Sloat for a pic of the angry ocean:

I continued on the Great Highway to Skyline to Lake Merced to Middlefield to Eucalyptus to Ocean to Faxon to Southwood to Greenwood to Plymouth to Hazelwood to Flood to Circular to Diamond to Chenery to Randall to San Jose to 29th to Tiffany to Valencia to 19th to La Pidge.  I stopped at the women’s building on 18th street for pics.  It’s pretty on 18th but the best view is totally on La Pidge which is interesting because it’s basically an alley.  It’s got such glorious detail:

I continued on Folsom to 2nd to Market to Sansome and into work  I rode home at lunchtime and we picked my friend Nick up at the airport and took him out to lunch.  He was heading off camping later that day so we didn’t get a lot of Nick but it was nice to see him.

I headed off Corbett to Clayton to Parnassus into Judah to 8th to Kirkham and down to the coast.  I came up the Great Highway and went into Golden Gate Park at MLK.  I followed it to Stow Lake and then took JFK to the Panhandle to Baker to Hayes to Broderick to Fulton to McAllister to Van Ness.  There are a bunch of vintage auto dealerships on Van Ness, and some of the are spectacular.  This one which currently holds British Motorcars is a little bulky:

Nobody slept well last night because Mr. Poe is out of town .  I managed to drag my ass out of bed and rode Corbett to Clayton to Parnassus into Judah and down to the coast.  I came up the Great Highway and went into Golden Gate Park at JFK.  I followed it to 8th Ave to Lake to Clay to Presidio.  I stopped at Presidio and Pacific to get the view looking west:

Immediately after I took this I got a call from my friend Kurt Schade who wanted to know why I was taking a picture of the gas station.  Evidently he was on his way to work and saw a bicyclist taking random pictures and assumed it was me and was, of course, correct.  I explained to him how a zoom lens works and that I was interested in the hill behind the gas station.  And then I had to explain it to him again.  Blonds.  What can you do??

I continued on San Jose to 28th to Valencia where I stopped for a shot of this cool storefront.  No idea when it’s from.  Gotta be before WWII but other than that I’m at a loss:
