Tuesday, March 25
It was foggy and damp this morning but not so cold. I headed off Corbett to Portola to Woodside to Dewey to Taravel and down to the Ocean. I came up the Great Highway and took Geary to 34th up to the Palace of the Legion of Honor which looked beautiful and a little mysterious in the foggy morning light.
Me?? Not so much:
I came down Camino Del Mar to Lake to Arguello to Clay to Fillmore to Pacific to Mason where I got a couple of shots of the Spanish church Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe on Broadway between Mason and Taylor. This church was built in 1912 and is likely the first San Francisco church built of reinforced concrete. It replaced an earlier church at the same site than was both completed and destroyed in 1906
I would expect the circulat element to be a window but it's a mosaic and it's in kind of in poor repair. It lacks the elegance of the rest of the structure and I wonder if it's original:
I continued on Broadway to Montgomery to Clay to Sansome and into work.
