I went home for lunch and Rufus seems resigned to being tortured by the puppy for the rest of his life.  But it's OK because he already loves the puppy.  Look at the little dog abuse he has to put up with:

The construction continued down the street.  I think in addition to a new foundation they're adding a new floor underneath.  It's amazing to watch:

It's pretty cold in the city but the weather says no rain so I'm hoping to get a few rides in this weekend.  Stay tuned!

  • I came across this music video on one of my favorite blogs, omgblog.  It's my new favorite.  You can visit their  myspace page as well.  It's 80's-licious.

I headed off Corbett to Clayton to Parnassus to Cole to Beulah to Stanyon and into Golden Gate Park. Christmas decorations are up at McLaren lodge!

I rode down JFK to the ocean and then headed up the Great Highway to Geary and then up to the Palace of the Legion of Honor.  Then I headed down Camino Del Mar to Lincoln in the Presidio.  There was a beautiful view of the Golden Gate Bridge this morning:

And also of the Marin Headlands:

    And me as well:

I continued on Lincoln to Crissy Field and then into the Marina.  Then over Fort Mason and up Columbus into work.

  • Thursday, December 6

I had to leave work early to go take Ashley to the vet for his very first visit.  We got to the vet at the SPCA and although I like the vets there, the surly office staff and the difficulty in getting an appointment make me want to find a better vet.  After we left the vet I took Ashley down to my office so he couple meet everybody.  Here he is being held by mu coworker Will:

Then we went home and it was pouring down rain so I played with the dogs in the house and went to bed pretty early.

Nobody slept too well last night because sweet little Ashley was up every two hours wanting to play.  With one exception.  Mr. Poe slept like a baby all night long while the rest of us were up dealing with the puppy.  Ashley's curled up behind Mimi.  Evidently he was up partying all night and wanted to sleep in.

I headed out Corbett to Portola to Woodside to Dewey to Taravel and then down to the Ocean.  I came up the Great Highway and went into Golden Gate Park at MLK.  I took Bernice Rodgers to JFK and then headed towards the panhandle.  I don't know what kind of trees they are but their leaves are so beautfiul:

And one of me as well:

I came out of the park at the Panhandle and then rode Baker to Golden Gate and headed into the city.  Maybe it's the rain but the Tenderloin doesn't seem like such a bad place these days:

Of course a few blocks down it's crack whore central but what can ya do??  I continued on Golden Gate to Market to Sansome and into work.

  • Wednesday, December 5

On the way back from lunch this crazy fog was lurking around the bay.  I thought it was smoke at first because it was thick but it wasn't:

The bank across from my office has finally put up their Christmas tree:

After work I headed off 2nd to Howard to 11th to Harrison to 25th to Valencia to Tiffany to 29th to San Jose to Wilder to Diamond to Monterey.  I saw this incredibly fabulous Christmas display on Monterey Ave.  Sorry it's a little blurry:

A lot of people don't realize that both Frosty the Snowman and Snoopy were present at the Nativity.  Thanks for keeping us informed!

I continued on Monterey to Santa Clara to Vicente to Portola to Ulloa to Portola to Corbett and then home.

  • Wednesday, December 5

I rode out Corbett to Clayton to Portola to Woodside to Dewey to Taravel and then down to the coast.  I came up the Great Highway and went into Golden Gate Park at JFK.  Then I took Bernice Rodgers to MLK to Middle to Transverse to JFK and I came out of the park at the Panhandle.  I rode to Baker and then went north.  This house is at Baker and Hayes.  How fabulous is it??  Very fabulous.  The sign on it says Brahma Kumaris Raja Yoga and a little digging turned up the Brahma_Kumaris_World_Spiritual_University on Wikipedia and also their website.  They sound really cool but I don't know about all that celibacy.  Because celibacy leaves a lot to be desired.

I continued on Baker to McAllister to Webster where I stopped to get pics of some murals adorning a playground.  I'm not sure about the circumstances for this mural but they are all prominent African American San Franciscans.  Very well rendered:

And me in front of them:

I continued on Webster and got a couple of shots of Japantown from Webster at Geary:

I continued to Post to Kearny Bush to Sansome and into work.

  • Tuesday, December 4

I worked from home in the morning to try to get little Ashley settled before I parked him in the kennel and went to work.  He's so sweet!  And he really likes Rufus already.  Rufus might be just the tiniest bit jealous of the puppy but he's quickly realizing that the puppy's a lot more fun than Mimi.  Here they are together:

And here's a pic of him laying on his back on my lap and chewing on the tie of my bathrobe:

after work I headed off Columbus into Fishermans Wharf and then over Fort Mason into The Marina.  I went into the Presidio and got on Lincoln and took it to Camino Del Mar and then up to the Palace of the Legion of Honor which looked very stately in the afternoon light:

And one of me with golf course behind me.

I rode Clement to 36th to Shoreview.  Shoreview has such pretty homes that have fantastic views:

I continued to 38th to Geary and then down to the Cliff House.  I took a few shots of the ocean which had this crazy surf.  I didn't see any surfers and I think you'd be nuts to go out in that but I'm sure a few must have and I heard that somebody died in Pebble Beach:

I rode down the Great Highway to Rivera to 24th to Quintara to 22nd to 16th to Taravel to Merced to Laguna Honda to Portola and then home.  I got another shot of Rufus and Ashley napping together.

And one of Mimi as well.  She's sick to death of all this puppy business.  You can tell.  She's in the desk chair because she was sending e-mails about it:

  • Monday December 3

I had to leave work in a hurry at about 10AM because of some big big news.  I rode home up Market and then got in my truck and drove up to Vacaville to pick up my Christmas present.  We've got a new Poodle.  I'm calling him Ashley after my beloved poodle who died of old age last year.  Ashley Junior is a little over seven weeks old and unbelievably precious and adorable.  Hello magazine offered me a lot of money to get the first pics of Mr. Poe and I with the new dog but I told them that my blog readers deserved the first look:

Mimi, of course, doesn't like the puppy.  I think she'll probably get over it.  Rufus is really, really interested in the puppy and is slowly realizing just how little and how fragile he is.  He's constantly herding the puppy, cleaning the puppy, and following the puppy around the house.  And look at this:

Adorable!  I'm so happy finally my house feels complete again!
