  • Friday, November 16

It was finally moving day for us.  Time to move back to our old offices that had been luxuriously refinished with electricity and flush toilets.  Our temporary digs sucked really hard but there were nice views so I got a couple of shots before I left.  This first one is the Anglo Bank Building currently occupied by the ironically named Far East Bank.

This is St Francis of Assissi with St Peter and Paul rising behind it:

They kicked us out pretty early so I decided to ride up Mount Tam.  I rode Sansome to Washington to Columbus to Fishermans Wharf and then Fort Mason to Marina Blvd.  I went into the Presdio at Mason St and rode up to Lincoln and then over the Bridge down into Sausalito and then into Mill Valley.  This restauarant on Shoreline Highway is being completely built around and evidently is the only affordable housing project currenly under development in Mill Valley:

I headed up the 1 to Panaoramic.  The park is heavily wooded in parts and is very beautiful:

Once I got up a little further I was above the fog and you could see the whole bay area:

    .

I turnded around at W Ridgecrest and came back the way I'd come.   It was a LOT colder on the way down and I hadn't eaten enough and I was definitely feeling it.  I stopped for snacks in Mill Valley and then rode back through Sausailto, over the bridge and then Lincoln to Washington to Wedemeyer into 15th Ave to Lake to 8th Ave into Golden Gate Park.  I came out of the park at Stanyon and went Beulah to Cole to Clayton to 17th and then home.  I felt like crap and went to bed at 7:15.  Lousy cold.

Foggy again.  Well we had two sunny mornings so I guess we were due.  I headed off Corbett to Portola to Woodside to Dewey to Taravel and then down to the ocean.  I came up the Great Highway and then up Geary to the Palace of the Legion of Honor.  They were getting ready for a big party there.  I guess my invitation was lost in the mail.  Sigh, just like high school.  At least my mom thinks I'm cool.  OK she doesn't.

The park looked really pretty in the fog:

    As did I:

I headed down Camino Del Mar to Lake where I took a few pics of the beautiful homes of Seacliff:

I took Lake to Arguello to Clay to Fillmore to Post to Kearny to Bush to Sansome and into work.

  • Thursday, November 15

It was sunny again which was great because I get really sick of all the fog.  I rode out Corbett to Clayton to Parnassus into Judah and down to the Great Highway.  Then I rode up to Geary and the Palace of the Legion of Honor.  The sun was just starting to come up.  You can see the Transamerica Pyramid from up there!

And here's another pic of the big ugly sculpture I don't understand:

And one of me as well:

I headed down into the Presidio and took Lincoln down towards Crissy Field. Here's a big container truck passing Alcatraz.  Please don't hit anything on your way to the port of Oakland:

This is a view across Crissy Field towards downtown:

After work I rode Sutter to Fillmore to Sacramento to Presidio to Lake to 28th to Cabrillo to 8th and into Golden Gate Park.  I came out of the park at 9th and then rode Judah into Parnassus to Clayton to 17th and then home.

    Bike Mileage:
    Today                             32.9

  • Wednesday,  November 13

I took a few pics on my way home for lunch.  There's a farmer's market in Civic Center on Wednesdays where they shoo away the crackheads and bring in the produce.  It's very popular and there's lots of good stuff to buy:

I continued up Market and got a nice view of poor St. Joseph's on Howard and 10th Street.  Gutted and forlorn for lack of Catholics south of Market.  But it would make a fantastic disco.

I continued up Market and got a shot of the gay flag at Market and Castro.  Because of the wind a nice shot of this flag is not the easiest thing to get:

I went home for lunch and then back to work.  After, I headed out Sutter to Presidio to Euclid to Arguello to Cabrillo and down to the coast.  I headed down the Great Highway which was hard because the beaches are closed because of the oil spills and there were cops and fire trucks everywhere.  I rode down to Taravel and then rode up to Dewey to Woodside to Corbett and then home.

    Bike Mileage:
    Today                             37.4
    Week to date                 102.7

  • Wednesday, November 13

It was finally sunny again in the morning!  I headed off Corbett to Portola to Woodside to Dewey to Taravel and then down to Ocean Beach.  I rode up the Great Highway and got some great shots of the beautiful morning at the coast:

And one of me as well:

I headed up to Geary and then to the Palace of the Legion of Honor.  The Marin Headlands looked gorgeous in the cool, clear light:

I headed down Camino Del Mar to Lake to Arguello to Clay to Fillmore.  This is the crappy Chrismas decoration in the Mac store on Fillmore.  One ugly candle dusted with an anemic amount of fake snow.  I hate it.  What's the theme at Mac this year--  "The Christmas we didn't bother??"

I continued down Fillmore to Post to Kearny to Bush to Sansome and into work.

  • Tuesday, November 12

I had a visitor in the afternoon!  Mr. Chris and Sofi, the world's sweetest dog!  They were out on a walk and stopped by to hang out with me:

While we were out walking I took a picture of this cool building at Montgomery and Sutter which is currently getting some facade repair for damage it got during the 1989 quake.  There's been a scaffold around it since I moved here to protect pedestrians from pieces that might fall off it an I'm hoping that's finally going to go away because it's a spectacularly beautiful building:

After work I headed out Columbus to North Point to Van Ness to Greenwich to Octavia to Union.  Christmas has already come to Union Street!:

I continued on Union to Webster up into Pacific Heights.  All of the streets heading out of the Marina into Pacific Heights are steep but I think that Webster might be the steepest.  I totally felt like throwing up when I got to the top of it and that feeling lingered for the rest of my ride.  I took Webster to Sacramento to Arguello to Lake to 8th into Golden Gate Park.  I came out of the park at 9th Ave and then went Judah into Parnassus to Clayton to 17th and then home.

    Bike Mileage:
    Today                             32.3
    Week to date                  65.3
    Month to date                385.8
    Quarter to date            1,181.3

  • Tuesday, November 13

I headed out Corbett to Portola to Miraloma to Maywood to El Verano to Monterey.  I rode around St. Francis Wood and got some pics of the beautiful homes there:

And one of me as well:

I rode Monterey to San Andreas to St. Francis to Santa Clara to Vicente and then down to the ocean.  I rode up the Great Highway and went into Golden Gate Park at MLK.  I rode through the park and left at 8th ave and then rode Cabrillo to Arguello to McAllister to Parker to Golden Gate to Market and then into work.

  • Monday, November 12

I headed out after work Sutter to Fillmore to Sacramento to Arguello to Lake to 23rd to Cabrillo to 8th into Golden Gate Park.  I came out of the park at 9th Ave and then rode Parnassus into Judah to Clayton to 17th and then home.

    Bike Mileage:
    Today                             33.0

  • I've already started Christmas shopping, we've been thinking about Christmas decoration, so maybe a little Christmas music is in order.  Ever heard of Bear Force 1??  I didn't think so.  You know, there's a reason for that.

  • Monday, November 12

It was cool this morning, but dry and clear so I wasn't going to complain.  I headed off Corbett to Portola to Woodside to Dewey to Taravel and down to the Ocean.  I came up the Great Highway and went into Golden Gate Park at Lincoln.  I continued to Chain of Lakes into 43rd to Cabrillo to 24th to Geary to 23rd.   I stopped and got a couple of pics of pretty Saint Monica's which had previously escaped my attention:

And one of me as well:

I continued on 23rd to Lake to Arguello into the Presdio and down to Crissy Field and then Marina Blvd to Fort Mason into Fishermans Wharf and then up Columbus to work.
