It was cold cold cold this morning.  It was in the upper forties when I left the house and it took me a long time to get warmed up.  I rode Corbett to Portola to Woodside to Dewey to Taravel and then down to the ocean which was much colder than anywhere else. I came up the Great Highway and got a pic of the Seal Rocks from Cabrillo:

And one of me as well:

I headed up Cabrillo.  I don't take a lot of pictures of Cabrillo because there aren't a lot of trees and the power wires kind of overpower the view.  But today, in the cold morning light, I thought they had an interesting geometry to them.  I still wish they'd put them all underground.

These are some of the homes on 37th St at Cabrillo:

I continued on Cabrillo to Arguello into the Presidio.  These homes are on Presidio in the Presidio.  I don't quite know how to date them.  Stylistically, I'd say 1870's or 1880's but that seems a little early.  They might have been done in a slightly nostalgic style all the way up to the 1920's.  I don't think that they could date after that.  The problem with them is that there isn't really any milled architectural detail to help with the date.

I headed out of the Presidio at the Lombard gate and rode Greenwich to Franklin to Francisco to Van Ness to North Point to Columbus and into work.
