It was so pretty this morning!  Cool and still with a couple of clouds.  I headed off Corbett to Portola to Woodside to Dewey to Taravel to 16th to Vicente and then down to the coast.  I came up on Great Highway where the sun was just coming up:

I continued on the Great Highway to Cabrillo and rode up on that.  This is Cabrillo facing east:

And me facing east as well:

I took Cabrillo to Arguello to McAllister.  This house is at McAllister and Willard and seems to be a lot older than the stuff around it.  I wonder if it's an old farmhouse from the 1870's or so.

I continued on Parker to McAllister to Golden Gate to Leavenworth to Post to Kearny to Bush to Sansome.  This building is at Pine and Sansome and is highly detailed.  It was once the Royal Insurance Building but is now condos:

Then I continued down Sansome into work.

    Tuesday, September 3

I headed off after work Sutter to Presidio to Euclid and up to the top of Laurel hill.  This is the view:

Then I continued down to Arguello and down to Golden Gate Park.  This is one of the bowling fields in the park.  There's a couple of them and they're popular with rowdy seniors:

I headed out of the park at 9th ave and rode up into Forest Hill.  It's really pretty up there when the sun is shining:

I rode 9th to 12th to Quintara to 14th.  This is the view looking south from 14th and Quintara.  Fabulous:

I rode down the steep (eek!) hill down to Taravel and then Dewey to 7th ave to Clarendon.  There were goats again at 7th and Clarendon clearing brush but these were close to the road and I fed them.  They're so cute! And will eat anything.

I continued on Clarendon to Twin Peaks to Clayton to Corbett and then home.

    Bike Mileage:
    Today                            33.7
    Week to date                 74.8

The weather was much improved from Monday!  Not a cloud in the sky. I took Corbett to Clayton to Waller to Stanyon and then into Golden Gate Park.  I rode out to the ocean where the sun was just starting to come up and then headed up to the Palace of the Legion of Honor.  Here I am in front of it:

I headed down into Seacliff which looked gorgeous in the early morning light:

And I got a great shot of the Golden Gate Bridge as well:

I continued down into the Presidio and headed down to Crissy Field and then went throught the Marina and then over Fort Mason, through Fisherman's Wharf and along the Embarcadero into work.

  • Monday, October 1

It was raining when I left the house.  Just a little but enough to make me wet and the streets slick.  I headed up Corbett to Portola to Woodside to Dewey to Taravel and then down to the coast.  I rode up the Great Highway in a heavier drizzle and then headed into Golden Gate Park.  Here's a view of the soggy park:

I headed out of the park at 6th Ave and then rode 6th to Clement St.  Clement was soaking wet and just waking up:

I continued to Arguello to Euclid and up to the top of Laurel Hill.  Then I took Presidio to Post to Kearny to Bush and into work.  The weather had improved dramatically by the time I left work. I headed out Sutter to Presidio to Euclid to Arguello and then into Golden Gate Park.  I rode out to the Great Highway and then headed down the coast.  It was beautiful:

And warm!  No jacket on me:

I stopped a little south of Sloat to take a few pics of the beach:

    And the gorgeous setting sun:

The view up great highway to the North:

I went around Lake Merced and then took Winston to Cerritos to Urbano.  This is a church now but back in the day I think it was called the El Rey Theatre:

This is the view down Urbano in the Ingleside:

I continued on Urbano  Ashton to Ocean to Phelan and into school for class.  After I went Foerster to Teresita to Evelyn to Portola to Corbett and then home.  Total bike mileage:  41.1
