Thursday I came into work Market to Laguna to Post to Kearny to Clay to Sansome.  I headed home for lunch and then went for a nice ride after work.  I headed up Columbus and stopped at Kearny for a shot looking back towards the Financial District and the Transamerica Pyramid:

I continued on Columbus to Stockton to North Point to Francisco to Gough to Greenwich to Lyon and into the Presidio at the Lombard Gate.  I headed over to Presidio and climbed up to the Presidio Gate.  I took Presidio to Washington to Arguello to Lake.  I think this might be my favorite home in the Lake District:

I continued on Lake to McLaren and stopped at Camino Del Mar for pics:

I took Camino Del Mar to Lake and got a couple more pics on my way back to Arguello:

I rode Lake to Arguello to Clay to Fillmore to Washington.  These pretty homes are on Washington and Octavia.  The first one belongs to Danielle Steel:

I continued on Washington to Gough to Clay to Polk.  I think they just finished paining Out of the Closet and it looks fabulous:

I continued on Polk to McAllister to Market to 17th to Ord and home for dinner.  After dinner I got cleaned up and then we went to bed early.

Tuesday I was totally beat and didn’t get out of the house at all.  I guess all the riding over the weekend caught up with me after all.  Wednesday I led an ALC training ride out to Tiburon in the afternoon.  We had pretty nice weather and it was a good day.  I only had two riders and one of them was Grady which was awesome.  We saw the Oracle armada heading out as we were crossing the Golden Gate Bridge.  It’s fast.  Look at how fast the power boats are going to keep up with the sailboat.  Amazing:

We rode Tiburon loop, stopped for snack and then headed home.  Here are my riders back in San Francisco:

I headed home for dinner and then got ready for bed.  It was a fun day!

Monday, despite all the riding I’d gotten in over the weekend, I magically managed to get my ass out of bed early and I walked to Balboa Park BART station and then came in on the train.  I ended up walking about 5 miles.  The weather was gorgeous–  I left the house without a jacket!– and I had a ton of fun winding my way through all the neighborhoods along the way.  So much fun.  Here’s a few pics I took:

I headed home for lunch only to note that Mr. Poe’s roses are going crazy with the warm weather we’ve had:

I went to a spin class after work and then headed home for dinner.  I tried to go to bed early but it just didn’t happen.

Sunday was my ALC training ride out to Lucas Valley and then Point Reyes Station and we had a lot of fun.  The weather was gusty and weird all day but we only got a little wet so it ended up OK.  We’d been a little worried about this ride because last year on this route we got hailed on but luckily we didn’t get that.  A whole bunch of Team Unpopular showed up and I just love having them on our rides.  They’re all so much fun and super nice.  My YTD bike mileage hit 3k today which was pretty awesome.  I’m a little behind last year but I’ve been spending a lot of time in the gym so I think that’s OK.

Pics from Sports Basement before the start:

We headed off over the Golden Gate Bridge towards Marin.  Here are some pics from the route:

This is pretty, pretty China Camp:

This is the view from the top of Lucas Valley:

We ran into the pos ped three day ride at lunch and we hung out with them a bit.  Sadly, I missed Mark and Brendan so I didn’t get to hear all the T about the overnight.  We headed back with another Lifecycle training ride and had a great afternoon.  Here are the last of the riders with Buz at the Golden Gate Bridge:

I got home at 7:30 which was kind of an ouch.  I had dinner and got ready for bed.  It had been a long ass weekend.

Saturday I led a Different Spokes ride out to Marshall and then down the 1 and up Bofax to Mt. Tam.  It was the hardest ride I could think of from San Francisco and it really kicked our asses.  We ran into Ben at the Cheese Factory and he rode with me up Marshall Wall.  Here are the pics I took at the top:

We had lunch in Pt. Reyes Station and then headed up Olema Valley and then down to Bolinas Lagoon.  We rode up Bofax to Ridgecrest and then rode Mt. Tam.  Here are David and Gordon on one of the seven sisters:

The fog was super thick beneath us and I love that.  It’s like riding on an island in a sea of frosting:

We headed home and I got cleaned up and ready for bed.  It had been a very long day.

Friday I came into work down Market St.  I went to the gym over lunch and took a spin class that was completely devoid of drama.  After work I went for a nice ride.  I headed off Market to McAllister to Baker into the Panhandle and then Cole to Haight to Stanyan to Page and into Golden Gate Park.  I headed over to the Music Concourse where I took some pics.

    Me:

I came out of the park at 9th and took it to Judah to 7th into Laguna Honda to Claremont to Portola to Santa Clara into Monterey to San Jose to Duncan to Valencia to 18th to Douglass and home for dinner.  Mr. Poe was at the movies so I fed the dogs and then myself and got cleaned up and ready for bed.  I tried to stay up til he got home but couldn’t make it past 9.

Thursday I came into work Market to Laguna to McAllister to Polk to O’Farrell to Grant to Post to Kearny to Clay to Sansome.  I headed home for lunch and then went for a nice ride after work.  I headed off 2nd to Howard to 11th to Harrison to 21st to Valencia to Tiffany to San Jose to Monterey to Hazelwood to Greenwood to Plymouth to Wildwood to Faxon.  This is the view down Faxon:

I continued on Faxon to De Montefort to Ashton to Head and stopped for a pic of some of the pretty homes.  I love the yellow house except that the color clashes with the yellow flowering things in front of it:

I continued on Head to Holloway to Borica.  This amazing paintjob would be perfect if the lawn didn’t look so post apocalyptic:

    The view down Borica:

I continued on Borica to Entrada and stopped to check out the sundial:

It predates the neighborhood.  Originally, the Ingleside was a racetrack and the sundial was in the center of it:

I took Entrada to Borica to Urbano to Moncada to Cerrittos to 20th to Ocean to Clearfield into 34th to Yorba to Crestlake to Wawona to 3oth to Vicente to 17th to Taravel to Merced to Hernandez to Laguna Honda to Portola to Corbett and home for dinner.  Mark Botello is in town for a bike ride and he and a friend showed up to stay over eightish.  It’s always such a treat when he’s in town.

Wednesday I was super late so I came down into Market into work.  I headed home mid day and then led an ALC training ride out to Tiburon in the afternoon.  We had eight riders including me which might be a record for the Wednesday rides.  We had three riders from Team Unpopular who are the nicest, funnest people that you could ask for.  The weather was perfect–  very warm but not exactly hot and with a bit of a breeze.  I thought everybody rode pretty well and I got back to the Castro with the last riders at about 7:30.  Here are the riders (except for Zev):

I headed home to deal with Mr. Poe.  We’ve been having utility work on my street the last couple of weeks and the replaced the gas lines.  Having to deal with PG&E to get the gas turned back on subsequently wasn’t the seamless process that he’d been promised and he was in a rage when I got home.  Luckily, the gas had already been turned on so the dogs and I didn’t have to go sleep in a safe house that night.

Monday I took the day off the bike (sort of) and came in on Muni.  I went to a spinning class after work.  The nice lady that normally teaches it was out of town and her sub was this unbelievably hot guy that sounded like he came from Dallas to me and looked kind of like a young Lance Armstrong except that you didn’t want to repeatedly punch him in the face.  He worked us harder than a Tijuana pimp and left me nearly dead.  I wish he could take over the Friday class from the guy who’s currently teaching it who is awful.

Tuesday I came into work Market to Laguna to McAllister to Market (don’t ask) to Sansome.  I went to the gym over lunch and then went for a ride after work.  The weather is warm and perfect and I had a nice ride.  I rode Sutter to Polk to Pacific to Fillmore to Clay to Spruce to Washington to Arguello and into Presidio Terrace which is a grand old neighborhood with the glorious Arguello Synagogue rising behind it:

I headed down Arguello to Cabrillo to Funston and into the Rose Garden.  Some of the bushes are in bloom but it needs another week.  I headed over to the Music Concourse and got a nice pic of the De Young:

I came out of the park at 9th to Judah to 7th into Laguna Honda to Dewey to Claremont to Portola to Santa Clara into Monterey.  I stopped at Valdez for a pic of poor beleaguered City College:

I continued on Monterey to San Jose to Duncan to Valencia to 18th to Douglass to Ord and home for dinner.  After dinner I watched cartoons and got ready for bed.
