Monday I walked to work.  My only plan consisted of hitting up the Whole Foods on California at 8am when they opened for vegan donuts so I kind of made a very roundabout trip there.  I started off in the Castro a little after 6:

These pretty homes are on Duboce Park at Pierce:

I then headed over to Alamo Square which is glorious in the morning:

These pretty flats are on McAllister at Pierce:

I love the millwork on this home on Pierce. So fabulous:

This is the famous ‘Seattle Block’ on Golden Gate at Steiner.  Amazing:

The not so shabby buildings across the street:

I ended up in a completely empty and super creepy Japantown center:

    More Japantown stuff:

    Pacific Heights:

Whole foods had donuts and I got a blueberry one and a chocolate one.  The blueberry one was a bit of a disappointment–  it only tasted vaguely of berry and really was just a vanilla donut colored blue.  Still delicious, but not berrylicious.  The chocolate one was fantastic but I love chocolate and most chocolate things.  I headed into work over Nob Hill.  I went home for lunch.  I was glad I wasn’t on the bike because it was pretty warm.  I went to spinning after work which was uneventful–  the Monday night lady loves me and it was a great class.  I headed home and we had dinner and went to bed early.  Great day.

Sunday was my ALC ride out to Marshall.  We were light handed because of the Jonathon Pon 2 day ride that was running at the same time but we had a fabulous group and had a wonderful day.  Here’s the hotness at Sports Basement before we left:

Here’s Karen at the top of Marshall Wall.  I was so proud of her!:

Me giving Leo Ford in Spokes realness:

We ran into the group in Point Reyes Station where I think I finally found the best lunch for me there.  I’d been eating burritos but they are just too much food so I got a peanut butter and jelly sandwich on toast and it was only $1.50.  I’ve said goodbye to my beloved Tacolitos and taken up with Barbeque Flavor Kettle chips because they have electrolytes in them.  I was super happy the whole way back to Fairfax. Here’s the group in Pt Reyes Station:

We headed back to Fairfax here are my last two riders Karen and Ken:

We headed home and I sadly made a terrible decision getting Karen home which resulted in us climbing Steiner from Golden Gate to Fell.  Sorry about it!  I got home a little after 7 and Mr. Poe made me dinner and then we went to bed.  I was beat.

Saturday I led a Different Spokes ride out to Limantour Beach on Drake’s Bay.  I’d never been there before and the route looked interesting and the pavement looked OK when I looked at it on Google Street View.  Let me tell you that Google Street View seems to have a flattening affect that I wasn’t aware of because it turned out to have a crazy amount of climbing but it was totally worth it because the views and the beach were so spectacular.  You pick up Limantour off of Bear Valley south of Pt Reyes Station and slowly climb up to a summit of around 800 ft.  From there it’s a very fast descent–  some with 17% grade!–  down to Limantour Beach.  This is a view of the wetlands a little up from the beach:

Wanderson showing us all how to werk:

We headed back to Pt Reyes Station and ran into the Marshall ride so we had lunch with them:

We headed home and I had dinner and went to bed.  It was a fabulous ride I can’t wait to do when David and Gordon get back.

Friday I worked from home in the morning.  I got up early and took the dogs for a long walk.  This was the view from Dolores Park:

I headed downtown mid day to take the spin class where once again drama ensued.  The instructor yelled at me and told me to move to a stationary bike in the exercise are if I couldn’t keep up.  He didn’t like my hand position.  Absolutely happened.  Developing….

After work I headed over to REI to retrieve my Cannondale.  They did a great job on it and it looks fantastic.  It’s all ready for the Lifecycle.  I rode home Brannon to Division to Harrison to 15th to Sanchez to Page to Cole to Stanyan to Waller to Cole to Belvedere to Clayton to Corbett to Ord.  Mr. Poe was at a movie so I was home alone with the dogs.  He got home ninish and we all went to bed.

Thursday I came into work very early down Market and went to the gym.  I headed home lunch time and saw this treasure on Market St.  Back off, bitches, I saw him first!:

After work I headed off 2nd to Townsend to Kansas to 17th to Potrero.  I got a pic of the new building going up at San Francisco General.  I’m liking more as it gets finished.  The brickwork really puts it in context with the surrounding buildings:

I continued on Potrero to 25th to Bryant to Precita.  This is the Precita center on Precita Park:

I continued on Precita to Mission to Highland.  I stopped for a pic on the bridge over San Jose looking downtown:

I took Arlington to Wilder to Diamond to Monterey to Ridgewood to Flood to Hazelwood to Greenwood to Plymouth to Wildwood.  This is the view looking down Miramar from Wildwood:

I continued on Wildwood to Faxon.  This is the view of from Faxon at Southwood:

I continued on Faxon to De Montefort to Ashton to Head.  I love this cottage I saw on Head:

Wednesday I got up and got out of the house a little early.  I headed off Corbett to Portola to Woodside to Dewey to Pacheco.  I stopped for a pic of pretty Forest Hill:

I took Pacheco to 9th and into Golden Gate Park.  I headed through to Music Concourse and then took 8th to Lake to Arguello and into the Presdio.  I headed over to the lookout just west of the Golden Gate Bridge and I stopped for some pics:

I took Lincoln and stopped at the Crissy Field overlook for some pics.  I don’t know how much I like the sculpture arrangement on Crissy Field.  It’s too much.  It looks a little less like a sculpture garden and a little more like an oil field:

I headed over to Marina and went into Fort Baker.  I stopped for pics of the fabulous Bufano sculpture there:

    Fort Baker:

I took Van Ness to Beach to Polk to North Point to the Embarcadero to Broadway to Davis to Jackson to Battery to Sacramento.  I headed home mid day and then led an ALC training ride out to Tiburon in the afternoon.  We had a fair turnout and a great ride:

We took an unschedulted trip around Belvedere Island after snack.  Fabulous:

We headed back to San Francisco and made the tail end of the Different Spokes organizational meeting.  They were pretty much out of food but I got some pics:

President Contos absolutely bringing ‘Re-Elect Nixon’ realness:

I headed home and got cleaned up and went to bed.  It was a very long day.

Monday I walked into work via Glen Park BART.  I went down to Dolores Park and then walked over Liberty Hill and then Noe Valley before heading to Glen Park.  This is an unusual sight in San Francisco-  these three homes on Castro between 27th and Duncan are accessed via a dirt road that ends up going through somebody’s carport.  Very rustic:

My walk didn’t end up having a vegan donut stop at whole foods so I tried going to Pepples in the Embarcadero but they weren’t open so I got a cookie and a cupcake from plant cafe on pine.  That, along with the surprising number of Mike ‘n Ikes that consumed immediately after gave me that ‘waaaay too much sugar’ gross feeling that lingered for the rest of the day.  I headed home at lunch and noted that they’d dug up part of my street for repaving:

I headed back to work and then went to a spin class after.  I worked so fucking hard I felt like throwing up for half of it which is in my opinion a good thing.  After the weekend on the bike I didn’t have a lot left.  After I headed home and sadly got on an ‘N’ train instead of an ‘M’ which is I mistake I make kind of a lot.  It wasn’t all bad, I ran into my friend Monica who’s one of the hottest chicks I know.  I’ve been on the Lifecycle with her and she looked hot every day which seems almost superhuman to me.  Usually by the end I look so ragged that people stopp calling my ‘Ma’am’.  I finally made it home and noted that they’d finished paving.  Too bad it was already too hard for me to scratch ‘Mimi Rules!!!!!’ in it.  Note that it’s textured–  they have to use concrete on my street and also texture it because it’s that damn steep:

Mr. Poe had dinner waiting for me when I got home.  Then i got cleaned up at went to bed.  At 8:30.

Sunday was an incredibly long day.  My ALC group rode Petaluma which is the second longest ride we do.  I left the house at 5:30 and didn’t get home until after 8PM.  Crazy.  But the riders did really well and I’m incredibly proud of them.  We narrowly avoided a huge disaster.  The route that I’d planned had us on the freeway for a couple of miles, but one of the riders did it the day before and noted showstopping construction that made that route a bad idea for a group.  So there was a little confusion in the morning but I think everybody got it together and I don’t think anybody got lost.  Mr. Poe made me dinner when I got home and then I went to bed.  It had been an incredibly long day.

Here’s the hotness at Sports Basement before rideout:

We went to Fairfax first and then Nicaso.  Here’s the tail end of the group there:

Everybody made it up the savage Wilson Hill.  Here we are at the top:

We had a below average lunch at High Tech Burrito in Petaluma and then headed back.  Cheese Factory was packed with Mothers Day shizz on our return:

We headed back to Nicasio and then back to the Golden Gate Bridge:

The sun was getting low in the sky as we headed across:

We’ve got one more Sunday ride next weekend and then that’s it until the Lifecycle.  The season went by so fast!

Friday I worked from home in the morning and came in on Muni mid day.  I went to my spin class and sweated so much that when I was finished I looked like I’d peed my pants.  The next class coming in looked at me a little funny as I left.  I got my hair cut after work and then went home and had dinner and went to bed early.

Saturday was the monthly Different Spokes club ride.  Everybody was out in their fabulous new jerseys.  I got one too but mine is too big and I’m hoping somebody’s gonna want to trade a M for my L.  Here’s everybody rocking their glam new look:

I got a couple pics of the Golden Gate Bridge as we were heading across:

We headed over to Tiburon where we stopped for snack:

I got this awesome view of the Golden Gate Bridge swathed in fog from Tiburon:

We headed around Paradise and then climbed Camino Alto and headed into Mill Valley for lunch at Cafe Del Soul.  After we headed back to the Golden Gate Bridge:

I wasn’t quite finished, so Ray and I headed up to Twin Peaks on the way home.  It was a great day for it:

I headed home and Mr. Poe took me to REI to drop my Cannondale off for a D check.  Then we headed home for dinner.   I had a big day on Sunday so I went to bed incredibly early.
