Saturday was the monthly Different Spokes club ride and we had a great turnout despite the decidedly gloomy weather.  I saw a bunch of people I hadn’t seen in a long time and I had a great time.  Here’s the gang assembling at Peet’s in the Castro:

We regrouped at the Golden Gate Bridge where we picked up a couple more riders:

    Sexy, sexy James:

I hadn’t seen James in a long time and the last time I saw him he wasn’t single.  He’s very attractive and I was overly flirty.  I behaved a bit like a teenage girl which isn’t very dignified when you’re in your <cough> twenties <cough>.  It was a little like this:

I’m sure we’ll all get over it.  We headed into Tiburon and stopped for snack:

A couple of riders did a short day but the rest then proceeded around Paradise and then up over Camino Alto.  We headed into Mill Valley for lunch at Cafe Del Soul and then we headed back to the Golden Gate Bridge.  We went through Fort Baker and stopped at the base for pics:

I headed home and started cooking.  I was off to John Young’s birthday party that night and I made him some savory cream puffs filled with egg salad and shrimp stuffed with blue cheese and rolled in tarragon.  I’d practiced the recipes on Monday and they turned out like this:

I didn’t get the volume out of the cream puffs that I did on Monday but they’re a little tempermental in the oven and I’m still kind of hit or miss them.  The shrimp weren’t difficult and turned out beautifully.  I got everything boxed up and then took a shower.  Mr. Poe got a pic of my niece Gabrielle and I before I headed off:

I headed over to John’s and hung out for a couple of hours before heading home.  I was totally beat.
