Thursday Mr. Poe took his sister and niece out to dinner so I posted a last minute ride on the Different Spokes Calendar and Roger and I rode Lake Merced loop. Sadly, my camera is slowly dying and most of my pics didn’t turn out but I got a couple on the Great Highway. It was shockingly sunny at the coast which surprised us both:
Roger insisted on riding up Clarendon on the way home which totally kicked both of our asses. I hadn’t ridden it in forever and was quickly reminded why. I stopped for a bottle of wine at the Upper Terrace Market at 17th and Uranus on the way home and the guy in line in front of me was buying 2 boxes of Kraft macaroni and cheese and a pint of Stoli. That, my friends, is the meal of sadness.
I headed home only to find that while sightseeing in Chinatown, Mr. Poe had gotten Mimi this fantastic kimono:
Joke #1: Now she keeps talking about invading Manchuria
Joke #2: Ashley Jr. saw Memoirs Of A Geisha and he’s started sending boxes with plums in them to all the neighborhood dogs.
My 2012 mileage hit 5,000 today and I’m really happy about that. I really want to hit 8,000 this year and here’s hoping I do.
