Wednesday Mr. Poe opened his first Christmas Present. I got him this enormous cheese and meat thing because he loves all that crap. I think I probably could have waited until Christmas day to give it to him because upon inspection, it clearly was not in need of refrigeration. One of the items was labeled ‘Brie Flavored Cheese Food’. Not encouraging. I’ll try for cheese again next year for him but not such a ghoulish source. Still, he seems very happy and we’re all set should there be a zombie apocalypse:
I also worked on Korean cooking again using Quick and Easy Korean Cooking. My brother got me a Korean cookbook a couple of years ago but it was very complicated and didn’t include a lot of stuff I could easily find. This cookbook is very accessible and although it likely wouldn’t fool anybody’s Korean grandmother, it tastes pretty good to me. Evidence:
My dinner: zucchini, tofu, eggplant and rice:
Mr. Poe had the same thing except instead of tofu I made him shrimp:
Mr. Poe got a nice pic of Rufus lounging in his chair:
I was also lounging with Mimi and Ashley Junior. Her willingness to sit in a chair with him depends on whether she’s the first one in the chair. If she’s there already, he needs to stay the hell away. But if he’s there first then she’ll sit next to him. It reminds me of Texans and immigration.
Mr. Poe got a lot of presents from his kids this year. By far the most adorable was this Christmas tree made out of egg carton. Mark my words, this will play an important part in our Christmas decor forever:
Looking forward to Christmas!
