I headed off after work Howard to 11th to Harrison to 20th.  These houses are on 20th between Harrison and Folsom.  They kind of have me scratching my head because I don’t think that they’ve gone through a bit of conversion.  I think they are originally single family residences from the 1870′s.  They’ve been jacked up and converted to flats.  The front doors are identical on both buildings even though the rest of the buildings are different.  I think the building on the right is later, and the assymetrical arrangement of the second floor windows leads me to believe that there’s something missing from the structure like a bay on the right side that was lopped off to make it fit into the lot.  Maybe these two buildings were moved to their present location and the front doors were constructed from construction scrap by the developers.  It’s hard to say which is why I find it so interesting:

I continued on 21st where I found this gorgeous building on the corner of South Van Ness.  Very well detailed and so nicely preserved:

I turned on South Van Ness where I saw this gorgeous Victorian house undergoing a lot of renovation.  The scaffolding looks terrifying.  Eek!

I turned on 21st where I saw this incredible mural.  It’s textured which adds to its fabulocity but doesn’t photograph well:

I continued on 21st and saw this beautiful place on the corner of Bartlett.  I love the Mission:

Across the street from it is this fantastic mural.  What’s not to like:

    It’s got such great movement:

I continued on 21st to Valencia to Tiffany to 28th to San Jose to Wilder to Diamond to Monterey to Ridgewood to Flood to Hazelwood to Greenwood to Wildwood to Faxon to De Montefort to Ashton to Pico to Urbano to Mocado to Cerritos to Mercedes.  This is the view from Mercedes at Junipero Serra looking West:

I continued on Mercedes into Winston to Lake Merced.  It was so pretty in the late afternoon sun:

I continued on Lake Merced to Skyline to the Great Highway.  This is the view from the Great Highway just south of the zoo:

Another shot from that vantage point:

I continued on the Great Highway to Taravel to Merced to Hernandez to Laguna Honda to Portola to Corbett and home.
