It was really cold yet again this morning. Where the heck is this global warming I keep hearing about?? I headed off Corbett to Portola to Woodside to Dewey to 16th to Vicente to 20th. These pretty houses are on 20th. I think…
I continued on 20th to Wawona to 24th to Vicente to 30th to Escolta where I saw this. It’s called the Pinehurst Lodge and it was originally built as an orphanage but is currently maintained by the Salvation Army. It’s a very interesting building:
I continued on Escolta to 33rd to Vicente down to the coast. I came up the Great Highway and took it into Golden Gate Park and then took MLK to the Music Concourse where I stopped to take some pictures of the new California Academy of Sciences building:
And me as well:
This is the de Young in the morning light. I love the twisting motion it conveys from this angle:
This is the new big yello thing in front of it. I can’t say that I love it like the new big yellow thing at the Palace of the Legion of Honor and I’m guessing that they’re related since they’re both big, new, and yellow and the museums are affiliated. It just doesn’t have the energy of the other piece. It does kind of look like a big yellow penis but that’s not enough to make me like it:
I hope it lights up. Then I might like it a bit more. But even then it’s going to be a ‘meh’:
I headed over to McLaren lodge and got a pic before I headed into the panhandle:
Then I took Baker to McAllister to Polk to Bush to Sansome and into work.
