I went to go visit my friend Mr. Chris after lunch because he’s providing the music for Team Different Spoke’s Mardi Gras themed Lifecycle fundraising party on Sunday. They’ve torn down a three story office building at the corner of Howard and Hawthorne where, incidentally, my friend Kevinn used to work, and the demolition revealed an old sign painted on the brick that was covered up when the now demolished building first went up. I see stuff like this every now and then around San Francisco and I think it’s so neat:
After work I headed off Sutter to Fillmore to Clay to Spruce where I took a liking to this ginormous mansion:
Especially the elegant detail over the front door:
I took Spruce to Washington to Arguello to Lake and stopped at Mountain Lake. So pretty:
You even get a sinister view of the spooky old hospital that is slated to be turned into luxury condos any day now. Insert sinister music here.
I continued on Lake to 28th to Clement to 30th. I got some great shots of Presidio Middle School which is really pretty and in really great shape:
I continued on 30th to Cabrillo and headed for the ocean. Here’s the view looking west from Cabrillo at about 46th
I turned down the Great Highway and went into Golden Gate Park at JFK. I followed JFK to the Panhandle and took it to Baker where I got a shot of a beautiful church on Oak at Baker:
And one of me with the picturesque DMV behind me:
I continued on Baker to Page to Scott to Duboce to Castro to 17th and then home. We went to the park with the dogs and Rufus behaved himself mostly and Ashley was charming and delightful.
