After work I headed out Sutter to Fillmore where I took this picture of the Shu Uemura boutique.  Very pretty building, very pretty store, very pretty things:

Then I headed out Clay to Arguello to Lake to 21st and then I explored West Clay street which is only two blocks in length and home to some of the most fabulous homes in town:

Here is the back of these homes taken from the Presidio a few days ago.  You can see that they are quite a bit larger than the street elevation would suggest:

Here is another view of West Clay Street looking West:

I got back on Lake and took this pic of this fabulous deco style building.  Swank!

I hcontinued down Lake and then took 26th to McLaren. This home is at 26th and McLaren and really finely detailed and totally fabulous:

Then I took El Camino Del Mar to 32nd Ave to Cabrillo.  This apartment building is on Cabrillo between 32nd and 30th ave.  It was deco day for me!

and the detail of the top of the bay:

So well done.  There isn’t a whole lot of deco stuff in San Franciso and a lot of it has an ugly problem.  I turned on 30th and headed into the park and.  This pretty waterfall is around Prayerbook Cross:

And then the iconic McLaren Lodge.  It’s a romanesque revival structure that lays low on the site and is almost as fabulous as the beautiful trees around it:

I headed down Stanyon into the Haight.  This building is the Stanyon Park Hotel.  I think the beautiful dome on the corner bay was probably a lot more common in the city but that they haven’t survived and now the bays just have flat roofs.

And then I took Beulah to Schrader to Frederick and up towards Ashbury Heights.  This building illustrates why you shouldn’t take your house painting cues from works on velvet:

Ay carumba!  Does the house come complete with the ghost of Bob Guccione??

I headed home for dinner.  My camera is dying a slow death and none of the pics I took of myself on the road turned out so I took one on my front porch displaying what my coworker Bruce calls “Anime Hair”

After dinner we took Rufus to the dog park where he played with three Golden Doodles (Golden Retriever/Standard Poodle mixes)  named Sofie, Mabel, and Chester.  He had a lot of fun playing with them and then I took Mimi and him for a walk.  This little Yorkie lives at the bottom of Ord Court and she’s so cute!  She likes to bark at you but then she hides when you look at her:

We went back to the dog park where I let Rufus run around while I held Mimi.  She’s getting a lot better about seeing other dogs but she still pretty much barked the whole time.  I think in another couple months she’s going to be ready for the growly dog class at the SPCA.  We didn’t stay at the dog park long because I didn’t want her to get too upset and we headed over to Buena Vista Parka and then took Upper Terrace up Mount Olympus.  Here’s a view of Tank Hill from halfway up:

We went down the stairs to 17th and then took Clayton to Corbett and then home.  Everybody was pretty beat and went to bed early.
